Skylar's POV
I walk out of sixth period and wait for Sammy to come out. Another teacher had to talk to him, so it took a little while. Finally, he made his way out and stood in front of me. I started walking to my car, assuming he was following me. When we got to my car, he looked at me, then at the ground.
Skylar: Is there a problem, Sammy? Do you have a car or do you need a ride?
Sammy: I need a ride, babe. But actually, I can drive you, give me your keys.
Skylar: Um, how about no. Get in.
I sat down in my seat and started the car. Sammy threw his bag into the back and got in. Before driving home, I went to Starbucks which made Sammy laugh. I went to get out of the car, while he just sat there.
Sammy: Typical white girl you are.
I rolled my eyes and walked into the store. Sammy slowly followed me and looked at everything on the menu. After I ordered my drink, I looked at him expecting him to order. He looked at me then ordered the same thing as me.
I paid for the coffee then sat down at a table while they made it. Sammy walked around looking at different things. They called our names, so we both made our way over to the counter. We grabbed our drinks and made our way to my car.
It didn't take us long to get to my house, and when we got there I took him inside. I pointed him to my room, then went to get some snacks. It took me a little while to decide what I wanted to bring, but when I went back upstairs Sammy was looking at some pictures of mine.
Sammy's POV
Skylar pointed me to her room, so I walked in there and looked around. When she walked in, I was looking at one of her family photos. She set the food down and came to stand next to me.
Skylar: That one was at my 10th birthday party. It was a week before the big accident happened. Anyways let's get to studying. What exactly do you need help in?
Sammy: Everything. As of right now I'm missing so many assignments. But I'm pretty sure you could help me, maybe.
She laughed at me, then pulled out her history book. I pulled mine out and kind of just stared at it. After awhile, I opened it to the chapter we were on. She started explaining everything to me, and it actually made sense to me.
By the time I had caught up on my history and English assignments, it was already 5:30. She picked up her phone and called somewhere. She hung up the call, then got back to work on the science we were doing.
The doorbell rang, so she ran downstairs to get something. I started looking at the picture again, and I almost started crying. Her twin brother had died a week after their 10th birthday party. They had been my best friends, then after that she pushed everyone away. I picked up smoking, because I lost both of them.
Skylar walked back upstairs and set the pizza down, before running back downstairs. A minute later, she came up with some drinks for us. We got back to work on my late work, and at 8 I only had one class left.
Skylar: So, you're almost done, but I think we should call it quits for tonight. If you need any help, just ask me tomorrow. But if you need any help over the weekend, I'll be busy.
Sammy: Doing what? You're parents are going out of town, and they have strict rules on you.
Skylar: Stuff. I'll see you tomorrow. Bye.
I didn't bother asking her, so I just left. It took me about half an hour to walk home, and when I got there my parents were fighting again. Trying to avoid them, I ran upstairs and walked into my room.
Setting my backpack down on my bed, I grabbed some clothes and took a shower. When I got out, my parents had stopped fighting, so I decided to go to bed. I knew I would probably need Skylar's help again tomorrow, but I'm scared to ask her. Guess I'll just have to suck it up tomorrow.
