Chapter 22- Someone like you pt.1

Renesmee p.o.v.

These past few months have been hard but I've gotten through it with Kyle's help. It's now December. He's been so supportive and just so kind. He always cheers me up. He's my bestfriend. Every time I see him I get these butterflies in my stomach. I think I'm slowly falling for him..

Kyle p.o.v.

I woke up in a good mood. The bright sun shun through my bedroom window. It was almost Christmas, so today was the last day until Christmas break. I headed downstairs in my pyjama pants and no shirt.

"Good morning honey. There's some pancakes on the stove if you're hungry. I have to run ", my mom hugged me quick and kissed my forehead. I grabbed myself a couple and sat over the island to watch some early morning cartoons.

"Hey bro," I heard. Steven walked into the kitchen. We walk to school every morning.

"You and Renesmee dating yet? " he laughed.

"Shut up! No. I--", I was about to reply when my twin sister, Katie, cut me off.

"Ooh, who's 'Renesmee' " , she appeared of nowhere. In the blink of an eye she was sitting on the counter top eating pancakes.

She wore ripped denim jeans with a white long sleeve shirt and black heels. Her hair was long and wavy and dyed blue.

"Just this girl Kyle's been crushing on for the longest time", Steven replied.

"So just ask her out Kyle, or is that too hard?", Katie flipped her blue ombré hair over her shoulder. She smirked.

"No, it's not that hard Katie".

"So then ask her out, afraid of a little rejection", she laughed at me.

"I'm not."

"Ask her out to a movie tonight. That's what I did to Samantha", Steven suggested.

That wasn't a bad idea at all. He and Samantha just started dating two weeks ago. I have strong feeling for Renesmee. She's so special and truly amazing. I needed to get the courage to ask her to the movies.

"I'll try okay. Just give me some time", I responded.

"Great! I want to meet her and see what's so special about her. I wonder if she's even pretty and has a brain. We all know your taste in girls. Remember the last one?" Katie sighed.

"Don't. I was fairly in a good mood, don't push me and be bitchy", she rolled her eyes. That's Katie for you.

It's just like her to bring up my past when I didn't want her to. It was a mistake being with my last girlfriend.

Stevan vanished just then. Damn vampire speed.

Steven is a vampire and so is my family.

My father was a vampire when he met my mother. She had my sister and I and she was turned into a vampire by my father.

I'm a hybrid. Human and vampire. My sister Katie and I are twins. Not identical though.

"Steven what the fuck are you doing in my room", I followed him.

"Just calling Renesmee", he said like nothing was wrong.

I snatched my phone from him and threw him out into the hall.


I got prepared for school. I threw on a pair of jeans and a blue long sleeve shirt. I didn't bother to fix my hair. It was in its natural messy look.

I hurried to the kitchen and threw the house keys to Katie.

"Lock up", I simply said and left with Steven.

I made it to English just before the bell went. I brushed off the snow on my hair and took my usual seat beside Renesmee.

"Hey, I thought you were gonna be a no show", she smiled and gave me a warm hug.

She wore a grey hollister hoodie with a grey Bennie, leggings and grey wool uggs. Her bronze reddish hair was his under her beanie. I'd gotten her into them ever since I wore one to class one day.

I chuckled to myself as we pulled apart.

"What's so funny", she gave me a silly look.

"Nothing, everything's fine".

Mrs. Thorne quieted down the class and assigned us a partner assignment. We were to read a short story and act out a scene from the book or just explain what the book is about to the class.

"Partners", Renesmee declared.

"Sure thanks for asking Renesmee", I laughed.


'I could ask her before class is over', I thought.

I nudged her and she turned, confused.

"Yeah?".

"Would you like to go to see a movie tonight?", I said as calmly and confidently as I could. 'Please say yes',
I thought before the answered.

Renesmee p.o.v


'I'm falling for him', I admitted in my head. Kyle just makes my whole day when I see him. He's cute, smart, funny, kind and attractive. His dark brown hair was always perfectly messy.

There was something about Kyle that was different and unique. I can't put my finger on it.

I broke free of my thoughts when I felt a touch on my arm.

I automatically turned. It was Kyle. His brown eyes were locked to mine.

"Would you like to see a movie tonight?", he smiled slightly. Was he nervous? This was so unlike him. Usually he just plans for us to go.

"Sure", my mouth responded not even a second after.

"Great! There's this new action film. Catching fire?", he suggested.

"Yes, oh my gosh. I've wanted to see that for the longest time. I heard it's way better than the first movie", I replied.

We continued talking until the bell went, letting us part ways.

Gym was a drag. We just played games of basketball.

I met up with the gang for lunch.

"Hey guys", I took my usual seat at the lunch table in front of Crystal, next to Kyle.

"Hey Ness. Hang out tonight? Samantha's going over to Stevan's place", Crystal asked as she took a bite of her salad.

She looked over to Samantha who was sitting right beside Stevan.
They were so cute. They've been dating for a few weeks now.

"What? Sorry we hang out at his place every Friday", Samantha smiled at hugged him.

"Sorry Crys, I'm seeing a movie tonight with Kyle", I looked over to him. He gave me one of my favorite smiles.

"It's okay Ness. Just come after school Kay".

"Sure, I just have to ask my parents before I go", I told her.

I felt bad but at least we would hang out before I went out with Kyle.

"Seriously it's happening?!", I heard Stevan to Kyle. He was so loud, the table beside us turned to look.

"What's happening?", I wondered.

"Nothing, Stevan's just being a dumbass", they both laughed.

"Ness, can I talk to you for a minute", Crystal said and practically dragged me out of the cafeteria.

"You so like him! I could see it when you look at him Nessie!", Crystal smiled and confronted me.

I didn't know what to say. Was it actually that obvious?

"Who?", I played dumb.

"You can't fool your best friend Ness. Kyle! You like Kyle!", she basically shouted in the hall. I covered her mouth with my hand.

"Shhh", I said quietly.

And when thing couldn't get any worse..

"Who's Kyle?", Emmett appeared beside me chuckling.

"Nobody Emmett. Go!", I walked away with Crystal.

"He's hot! How do you know him?", Crystal kept looking back to Emmett.

"Ew Crystal! Emmett's my unc-- brother. He has a girlfriend. Yes I like Kyle okay. He's perfect Crystal. I really do like him. I'm glad he asked me out tonight. But he was all nervous when he asked." I went on as we walked through the halls.

"Oh my gosh! Nessie he likes you. If he was nervous, he asked you, that means he just asked you out! I have to make you look perfect!".

"Are you sure? And it's only the movies Crystal. Save it til our actual first date", I replied laughing.

"You say it like you're planing for it to happen", he both laughed and linked arms walking down the end of the hall. Crystal was such a good best friend.

Jacob and Cassidy are at the end of the hall kissing and stop when Jacob sees me.

I don't even care about it. I've moved on. I have no feelings for him and I don't want to cry over him. I might have a new better true boyfriend and I'm not wasting my time crying over my past when Jacob clearly doesn't look like he cares.

Crystal looks over to me to check if I'm okay. I give her a slight nod and we continue walking down the hall like we never even seen them.

My face lights up just as I see Kyle walking towards me. Crystal giggles and leaves us to talk.

"I'll meet you at your locker after school".

I don't reply when she leaves because I'm too focused on Kyle.

"Hey, I forgot to arrange the time with you", he told me.

"We obviously can't drive so my mom will drive us. Is 8 okay?", he carried on.

"Yeah, eight's perfect". I flashed him a warm smile.

He looked so good right now.

"What class do you have now? I'll walk you", he smiled.

"Science. We have a unit test today. Sucks big time", I reply and we head to class.

I hear someone repeatedly call my name from a distance.

"Renesmee! Can we talk please. I hate how things have turned out. Can we at least try and be friends?!". It was Jacob. I ignored him and kept walking with Kyle.

"Renesmee look at me", he turned me around.

He honestly looked like a mess. He's hair messed up, dark circles under his eyes.

"Don't touch her", Kyle stepped in and put me behind him.

"Who the hell are you? Renesmee who is this guy?", he looked to me.

"None of your business. Get out of here", he talked back.

"No, you don't speak for her", Jacob kept going.

I had enough. Jacob had no right.

"Leave me alone. I told you I didn't want to ever see you again. Go away", I yelled.

People turned around to see the action.

Kyle and him stared at each other for the longest time before he finally left.

"Thank you so much", I hugged Kyle for so long and buried my face in his chest.

"Anytime Ness", he simply said.
