Chapter 17- Afterschool things pt.1

BELLA P.O.V

"Ness, your new friends seem very nice. Your dad says they have kind minds", I told my daughter as I did her hair today. She wanted it straight.

"Yes I know. They are the best. We have so much in common", she smiled.

"I'm glad you have good friends", I hugged her.

"There your hair is all done, go get dressed and then eat. We have to leave soon", I told her.

She got up and looked in the vanity mirror.

"Wow! I love it mom! Thanks!", she squealed with joy.

"You're welcome honey", I told her than she left.

I wandered to the the closet. What would I wear today.

I scanned the closet but came up with nothing.

I suddenly felt a pair of cold hands wrap around my waist.

"Bella", he breathed in my scent.

"Edward". I turned to him. He kissed me. We kissed for what seemed like forever.


"I have to get ready, Edward", I finally said.

"Alright. I'll meet you downstairs", he kissed my forehead and vanished.

I finally found something comfortable and proper to wear.

It was a white strapless dress, it reached my mid thighs.

I put a dark moss green colour jacket over. It didn't look bad at all.

I added a few bracelets and just put my hair to the side.

I grabbed my flats and went downstairs.

"Bella bella bella bella!", I was suddenly ambushed by my sister.

"Yes Alice?", I took a seat next to Edward.

"Rose and I are going to try out for the cheer leading squad and so are you! It's going to be super fun!", she bounced up and down.

"No, Alice. I can't. I'm way to clumsy and I'm not flexible and I can't balance well", I protested.

"Too bad bella.. Don't you want to cheer for Edward?", she pointed out.

"What?! Edward your going to be on a sports team?", I looked at him.

"Yea, Emmett and I are going into football. I want to try it out. And I would love if you were there to cheer me on", he explained and came close to me.

"Okay I'll do it", I finally gave in.

After all, I was a vampire now. So i have a better abilities. I could try and do this.

"Jasper what are you going to do?", I wondered.

"Just some soccer. Jacob and I are going to try out", he said.

"Cool".

We grabbed our bags and left for school.


Rosalie P.O.V


School was over. The bell just rang and I hurried to get to the cheer tryouts.

"Look over there! She's a babe!", I heard someone say.

Of coarse they were talking about me. I was perfect. I looked 10x better than everyone here.

I barely felt the hit, since I'm rock solid, but since the guys were all commenting, I knew what happened.

"You free tonight?", a tall lanky but a little buff boy asked me.

"No, not tonight. Or ever. I have a boyfriend. Also I don't appreciate you touching me", I said rudely.

"And if I dont", he smirked.

"Then I'll bet the crap out of you. Get lost", I heard Emmett.

They quickly scrambled away.

"Emmett thanks. But I could have taken care of it", I hugged my husband.

"It's alright babe. I'll see you on the field, love you", he kissed my cheek and jogged away.

"Alright. This is the cheer tryouts. Feel free to leave if this is not what you want to do. It's hard work being a cheerleader.

You have to cheer your heart out and get the crowd to like you", this small short girl talked on and on.

We are going to try and easy routine. Try and keep up. We will choose the best and then from there, if you are chosen you need to show us your best moves. Okay. Good luck everyone", she explained.


The routine was very very simple. Simple to us vampires, tricky for the normal humans.

In the end, 10 were chosen.

There were already 10 girls on the squad, so 5 spots were open.

5 out of 10 would be chosen to join.

I was first up to go.

I showed off a bit doing some aerials, a few back handsprings, front/back walkovers, cartwheels and more.

Everyone looked at me in awe. The guys even stopped playing football and looked over here.

I smiled as Emmett saw me. I was paying attention to him and only him.



"Bella you are good. Your cartwheels were really good. You tried your best and that's all that counts", Alice told her.

Bella was alright. She could only do cartwheels and a few aerials and a front walkover.

Alice did basically what I did. But of coarse I was better.

"Alright girls. We have chosen the five girls to be on the squad...", the head cheerleader, Elena said.

"So can the following girls come up and join us? Rosalie, Alice, Taylor, Brenda and Bella. Congrats", she came and hugged us.

I already knew I would make the team. The other girls who didn't make it left.

"We will be getting our uniforms tomorrow because we will be getting your right sizes.

Practice is every Monday, Wednesday and Thursdays. We will tell you when the games are.

You all must always bring your uniforms to the games. And your hair has to be in a ponytail.

For practice, wear light clothing. Just like a sports bra and shorts or a tank top and bring running shoes.

And lastly, in a few weeks, we will have a vote for new head cheerleader. The head cheerleader has to be kind and has to do what's best for the squad. Alright that's it", elena finished.

We all got to know each other and exchanged numbers.

Time to go home...
