Chapter 19- Kyle Newman

Cassidy P.O.V

"Wow! I can't believe we finished the assignment already. This calls for a celebration don't you think?", I suggested as we cleaned up.

I hoped he would agree.

I had strong feelings for Jacob.

I know I didn't know him too well, but I really like him.

He's funny, extremely cute and smart and so much more.

He's the perfect guy. The guy for me.

"Sure, sure", a deep voice interrupted my thoughts as I was cleaning up.

This is great. Now we can hang out and get to know each other better. Awesome!

"There is a frozen yogurt place down the street from here, if you wanted to go there?", I suggested.

I honestly loved that place. They have the best flavors.


"Yeah, c'mon let's go", he playfully linked arms with me and we headed out.

This is gonna be good.










Renesmee p.o.v

"Ness, what do you think is better. Cake batter or red velvet?" Alexis asked.

We were choosing flavors for our frozen yogurt.

I took a tasting cup for both of them.

Mmm. "Ah, cake batter. It's amazing", I decided. It was truly amazing.

"Hahaha yes! Cake batter rules!", Alexis cheered loudly.

Customers around us turned to stare at us with weird looks.

Crystal burst out laughing and we all followed.

"Ness you're so--", Crysal stopped talking.

"Crysal? What".

"Ness. It's Jacob. He's right there.. With a girl..", Crystal continued staring at the door.

I turned to look over. There he was... With her.. Cassidy.

I felt a little jealous.. Maybe a lot jealous.

"I-I-I'll be right back", I stuttered to my friends.

I decided quickly to introduce myself and make it very clear for her that Jake has a girlfriend.

I started my walk over slowly.

"Jake?" I asked fake surprised.

"Hey Ness!", he looked to surprised that I'm here.

I ignored the girl, Cassidy I think it was, and went to hug my Jake. Nice and tight.

It felt so good to hug him.

Jake broke the hug slowly. He looked at me then her.

"Ness, babe, this is Cassidy. Cassidy this is Renesmee, my girlfriend", he introduced us.

"Hi", I put on a fake smile. She was pretty. Orange hair, light brown eyes.

She dressed really casual in a nice yellow loose button up shirt with gray jeans and brown flats. Her thick wavy hair was left out and stopped right above her stomach.

Gladly the smile worked and she offered me her hand to shake.

"Hey, I've heard lots about you, you're so pretty", she tells me.
"Thank you haha", I laugh a bit.

"What brings you to menchies babe", Jake wraps his arm around my waist.

I love this. Cassidy just stands there awkwardly. It's like we were in our own little bubble.

"Just here with a few school friends. But I should get going. I'll see you later okay", I told him sadly.

I didn't want to leave but I couldn't stay and interrupt this. Cassidy seems like a nice friend.

"Alright babe. I'll see you", he hugged me and leaned in for a kiss.

The kiss lingered for a few moments when I finally pulled away when I felt a strong grasp on my arm.

"Renesmee come on!", Crystal tugged.

"Bye Jake. Bye Cassidy", I waved off to them as I walked away with Crystal.

"What was that Cris?", I angrily whispered.

"I had to drag you out of there Ness. That girl looked like she was gonna rip your head off", Crystal clearly stated.

"Oh my. Really?! Thanks Crystal. Come on let's quickly leave", I decided.

We all purchased our frozen yoghurt and walked back over to Samantha's house.

I was texting Esme to pick me up as I was pacing back and forth on the street when I bumped into something.

I fell right on top of it.

"Ugh, ow", I rubbed my head. I looked down on the figure.

"I'm so sorry Renesmee. I should have looked where I was going. Are you alright?", he rushed out.

"Kyle?", I was still a bit woosy and not completely there.

He laughed and helped me up slowly.

Once I was on my feet a few minutes went by and I felt better.

"I'm so sorry. Ah, my head", it still hurt badly.


Kyle was from one of my classes at school. He's smart.

"Are you alright Renesmee. I'm so sorry", he told me once again as he fixed his beanie back on his head. His voice was deep and steady.

I tried to look into his eyes but I couldn't focus.

"Renesmee?", he waved a hand in front of me.

I blinked a couple of times.

"Sorry. Um, yes I'm okay. Sorry", I stuttered on my words.

"You said that already", he chuckled.

"What are you doing here?", I tried to change this awkward situation.

"Just walking home. I just came from the library. I volunteer there".

Wow.

"Nice. I'm just waiting for my grandmother to come and pick me up. We could give you a ride if you want?", I offered.

It was getting a little chilly out now since it was almost 10 to six.

"Sure. Thanks. Um. Renesmee. I've been wanting to ask this for a while now, I didn't get the time to but, do you maybe, want to go out sometime?", he asked bravely.

I was shocked. Kyle and I didn't even know each other so well.

"Kyle, I have a boyfriend", I admitted.

His face fell a bit. His happy smile fading but he shrugged.

"That's cool", he said as he pulled his phone out.

I don't know if I was suppose to say anything so I just decided to keep quiet.

Thankfully Esme pulled up at that moment.

"Kyle, you still need that ride", I asked him.

He nodded once and got in the car.
