This applies to all novels.***
Readers mostly love the build up.
They like getting to know the characters themselves
. If you give all the information in the first chapter or something, it WILL make it boring and there can be no plot twists. Let's say the main characters a blond guy with blue eyes who's brother dies in a fight against their enemy. Don't just say..
'I'm a blonde, 16 year old guy and I have blue eyes. I used to have a brother but he died fighting my arch nemesis Daniel Forester of the blue moon pack. Now I am going to get revenge because I hate him. '
Try and describe the guy as you go long the story. And don't just blurt it out. Maybe meet Daniel and have him gloat on how he killed the guys brother himself. It will put more emotion into the story which leads to the readers liking the character more.
