Stereotypes.Although sometimes a good thing if you write it well enough, stereotypes CAN be a down fall in a book. Please, please, don't add a cheerleader who is evil and hates your guts for no reason. Its Overused, Overheard and Overall annoying!
Plus, most of the time, if I read a novel with over exaggerated stereotypes it turns me off of the book and although they earn 1 read for the first chapter, they lose 1 read for all the other, later, ones.
Tip.
Maybe make the main character a cheerleader ( and that works with all genders so..) or some popular person that isn't some stuck up bitch.
(*Insert English stereotyped accent* Excuse my potty mouth)
