-Three weeks later-
Vic's birthday is coming up in about a week and I am so excited to give him what I got him. I have two VIP tickets to a Green Day show and I want to take him with me. Well, technically I didn't get them for him. They're from my uncle who works with their record label and he was able to snag them.
I wanted to make this birthday special for him since I know he hasn't been here for a very long time. I reached for my phone that was sitting on the table by my bed and called Dakota.
"Hey, what's up?" He asks once he picks up.
"Hey. Can you come over? I need help with something." I ask him.
"And what is this thing? Did Vic do something to you?" He asks.
"No, but it's for Vic's birthday." I explain to him, smiling at his slightly overprotective side.
"Oh, alright. I'll be over soon." He says.
"Okay. Thank you so much." I tell him.
"It's no problem." He says before hanging up. I get up from my bed and make my way into the living room to wait for him.
"Hey, Dakota's coming over." I tell my mom who is sitting on the couch.
"That's fine." She says, "He hasn't been here since you and Vic got together, has he?" She asks.
"No." I say sadly, looking at me hands feeling guilty. I've spent so much time with Vic these last few months that I've barely talked to anyone of my friends. "Can I invite the rest of them over, too?" I ask.
She looks over at me knowingly and nods her head. I pull out my phone and send Justin, Clair, Bliss, and Carli all a text, telling them to come over. It's been way too long since I've seen them.
When I heard a few knocks on the door, I jumped from my seat and ran to answer it.
"I'm so sorry I haven't hung out with you for almost four months." I say, practically jumping into Dakota's arms.
"Hello to you too." He laughs, patting my head.
"Change of plans, you're not helping me with Vic's birthday shit. I invited the other four and we're just going to hang out." I tell him.
"Okay, that's great." He says, stepping into my house and taking his shoes off. "Hasn't changed much, has it?" He asks, looking around my house.
"No, not really." I tell him.
"Hi Dakota!" My mom shouts from the living room.
"Hey Lisa!" He shouts back. I laugh at them and head for my room with Dakota following me.
As soon as we make it to my room, Dakota throws himself on my bed.
"Still just as comfortable as I remember." He says, his voice muffled. I laugh and sit down on my office chair, glancing at the picture of Vic and I on my desk before turning to Dakota to see him flipping through my notebook.
"What're you doing?" I ask him frantically.
"Relax dude, Bliss told me about your list." He states.
"I didn't even know she knew about it." I mumble.
"That's because I found it one night while you were sleeping." I hear a voice say from the doorway. I turn to see the rest of my friends walk in.
"That sounds really fucking creepy." I tell her. She shrugs and hugs me quickly before taking a seat on the bed beside Dakota. The rest of them gave me a hug before scattering around my room.
