Vic should be here to get me any minute now. All I had to do was wait for him.
I'm so happy that we're okay. I probably would've been lost without him. That sounded really cheesy but it's true. Vic is my rock. He's what keeps me sane in this disgusting world.
"Do you have everything?" My mom asks me for maybe the tenth time in the past hour.
"Yes." I groan, throwing my head back in annoyance.
"Okay, I'm sorry. I'll stop." She says with a laugh.
"Thank you." I breathe.
"Just want to make sure you don't forget anything." She says. I snap my head to glare at her, making her laugh again.
The sound of a car horn from outside pulled my gaze away from my mom and to the door.
"That must be him. I'll see you whenever we come back." I tell her because who knows how long this trip is going to be.
"Okay, just text me every night and let me know where you're at." She says, giving me a quick hug.
"I will. Love you." I tell her before grabbing my bags and walk out of the house to be met with Vic leaning against his car with his arms crossed.
"Hey." He says when I get to him, pulling me into a quick hug then pecks my lips.
"Hi." I answer.
"Are you ready?" He asks and I nod my head. He smiles and takes my bags, putting them in his back seat.
We both climb into the car and soon we're heading to the West Coast. To say I was exited would be an understatement. I have never been out of Michigan, let alone to the other side of the country.
"Do me a favor and pick out a CD." Vic says, opening up his little holder thing. I looked through them a little before deciding on Taking Back Sunday. I slid it in and turned the volume up.
After about an hour of driving, my stomach started making gross noises. I hoped the music covered it up but I guess it didn't because Vic gave a weird look.
"Are you hungry or something?" He asks, glancing from me to the road.
"Kind of." I say shyly.
"Okay. We'll find a drive-through and stop." He tells me.
"Thank you." I tell him before focusing my gaze out the window, watching all the passing trees and a few road signs.
Before I knew it, we were pulling into a McDonald's drive-through.
"What do you want?" Vic asks me as we wait to order.
"Just get a ten piece with a sweet tea." I tell him and he nods in response. He tells the lady through the microphone then pulls up to the first window.
We go through the process of paying then we get our food and we're back on the road again.
"Ya know, I'm super happy that we're okay." Vic says randomly.
"Oh?" I say, confused that he just blurted that out.
"Yeah. Like, I love you a lot and I'm a fucking idiot for what I did to you." He explains.
"Vic, we already went over this." I remind him.
"I know, but I can't help but still feel like you're mad at me because of it." He admits with a hint of sadness in his voice.
"I was but I kind of get where you were coming from." I tell him.
"But-" He starts but I cut him off.
