The boy would be out there everytime it rained. He would sit at the end of the curb with his hands shoved deep into his coat pockets, his head down, allowing him to stare at his shoes as his damp blonde hair would gently fall across his forehead, almost covering his eyes completely.

Cars would drive by, splashing water onto him carelessly, but it wouldn't phase him. He would stay in the same exact position. His hair would start to become wavy as more rain poured down, and he would desperately run his fingers through it, trying to make it straight again but would fail miserably.

The boy would always wear black. He would wear all black all the time; including his earrings that sat in his reddened ears. A rosy patch would be noticeable on the side of his cheek, and the tip of his nose would be red as well. He would shiver slightly; his teeth chattering, and his body shaking effortlessly. His skin was always pale, white. He would look like a ghost. His hood would always be pulled over his head, and there were always dark circles that sat beneath his eyes.

Natalie would wait at the end of the curb he sat at for her school bus, and he would notice her. He would look up at Natalie with his big, beautiful, glossy blue eyes as if it was an invitation for the girl to come sit with him, but she would always turn away. He was a stranger. Natalie didn't know him. She didn't even know his name...

As Natalie sprints down the sidewalk in the pouring rain desperetley, the bottoms of her converse slap the ground, and her string backpack flings about behind her as she catches up to the bus that is stopped at the red stop sign by the curb.

It was Natalie's first day of being a senior, and the day had already started off bad.

The sky was a light and gloomy gray, and there was no sign of  the rain stopping anytime soon. The girl stops by the bus, and catches a glimpse of a dark figure slumped over to the right of her.

Looking back slightly before climbing the bus steps, she sees a boy dressed in all black, slumped over and staring down at his shoes.

He must have noticed Natalie staring at him, because he looks up at her slowly, his eyes puffy and red, and his pale cheeks are stained with tears.

Natalie quickly turns back around, and climbs the steps to find a seat. Finding one way in the back, she plops down. Luckily, it was empty.

The bus pulls off, and as it pulls away, she looks at the boy who is staring back at her hopelessly with his bright blue eyes.

The next morning, it rained again. Sure enough, the boy was dressed in all black and sat at the same curb. It rained the day after that, too, and the boy was out there again.

Natalie would think to herself as to why he would always be out there when it was raining. She wanted to know his purpose. She never thought she would be the type of person to do this, but after a few weeks of seeing him there almost everyday, she talked to him.

"Hi..." she stands next to him awkwardly.

Catching the boys attention, he looks up at the brown haired girl as a rain drop falls onto his cheek and slowly slides down it. His skin is glowing slightly because of how pale it is. The boys eyes are puffy and red, and he quickly looks back down at his shoes.

"Can I sit here?" Natalie purses her lips together and points down to the cold, wet pavement. That was kind of a stupid question. She didn't want to be rude. The boy looks at her once more.

He nods his head slightly, and stares back down at his shoes. Natalie  sets her backpack down and plops down next to him, keeping a reasonable distance between the two of them.
