"Why do you always sit out there in the rain?"
"So no one can tell that i'm crying."

-LOUI-
Silence.
Silence is what I hear in a crowded room because I feel so alone. No one is with me.
Silence is what I heard when I left my mum, and my little brother. Slamming the door shut and shaking my head quickly, not wanting any part of them anymore.
I chose to hear silence. Tune out on my mum screaming me to get back inside, my little brothers screams. I didn't want to hear it. I packed my stuff and I left or good. My father came home as soon as I was about to leave and he started beating me violently. I pulled my knife out from my sock and threatened to slit his throat if he touched me again. So he stopped. But before I left, he mumbled one last thing under his breath.
"What was that?" I had asked him.
"Oh, nothing." He smirked.
I stared at him for a moment before grabbing him by the collar harshly. I looked him in the eyes sharply.

"Listen here," I had breathed. "You and I both know that were both not welcome here. It's kinda sad that i'm the one being the braver man here instead of your pathetic ass. Learn how to take care of your fucking family, prick. I had shoved him back.
"Loui..." he let out a cry.
I kept walking, not looking back. That was the last time i've ever seen my family.
But I'm coming back.
I get onto the bus slowly, scanning the people around me. Theres a lot of old people and middle aged mothers. They all stare at me as I get on.
They wont stop staring at me.
I bite my lip and sit next to a lady holding her daughter.
I look over and see the little girl looking at me and I smile and wave a little.
She smiles and laughs a little bit. Her mom looks over and sees me smiling and she scoots her daughter more over towards her, furrowing her brows at me.
My smile fades, and I look the other way, adjusting my leather jacket. Everyone else cannot just take their eyes off of me.
"What are you looking at?" I ask the person next to me staring at me. They quickly look away.
Rolling my eyes, I grab a newspaper from the pocket in the seat in front of me and I put it over my face closing my eyes.

Stepping off the bus, my heart begins to race as I see the familiar nearby convenience store sitting in the corner.
Scanning my eyes over the cracked black pavement, I take a deep breath and begin to walk.
The street is silent. Just like it always used to be. All I can hear is the sound of my black doc martens slapping the pavement beneath me as my heartbeat skips several beats as I approach the driveway.
Staring at the house for a few seconds, i shake my head and swallow hard.
"It's okay, Loui. Just be strong. Be strong."
What if my dad is still here? What if he answers the door? What if he starts to beat me again?
I shake the thoughts away quickly and raise my fist to the door.
I knock about 4 times loudly and then wait.
No one seems to answer, so I start to knock again, but on my last knock someone opens the door quickly.
"What do you wan-" the person says but stops mid sentence when they look up.
Its silent between the both of us as we just stare at eachother.
"L-Loui?" I can hear Dan's voice crack slightly.
"Dan..." I say, shifting my attention to someone standing behind him in the doorway. It was mother.
"Loui....?" She squeaks out.
"Mum?" I walk closer and i quickly pull them both in for a tight hug.
"W-why why are you here? What made you come back?" My Mum wipes a tear.
"I just felt like I needed to." I reply, letting them both go.
"Well you're welcome to stay for however long you want!" My Mum smiles at me.
"Thank you, Mum." My eyes shift towards Dan.
"Last one to the top of the stairs is a twat muffin!" I smirk.
I dart to the stairs as Dan quickly follows behind me, catching up. I trip over the carpet and fall as Dan takes the lead and makes it to the top.
Chucking, I shake my head.
"Since I lost, you have to take my stuff to my room now." I walk up to him, handing him my bag.
"You're still the same turd you were when you left, huh?" Dan mumbles with a smirk, and he walks me to the end of the hallway.
"That's me." I laugh.
So I guess my dad doesn't live here anymore. That's great. He doesn't even deserve to be under shelter.
Dan opens the door, and I stop in my tracks as I see bright blue wall paper covered in zoo animals and I see a small bed in the corner. Building blocks are stacked up on the floor, legos are dumped in a pile over by the other toys.
Swallowing hard, I look at Dan.
"W-who's room is this...?" I stammer, already knowing the answer.
