She wasnt surprised. Kassie closed her eyes, and softly sang back:
"Your heroine is here, don't shed anymore tears.
Leave your pieces behind, we're gonna be fine.
Leave the demons alone, now that you're mine, I have a new home."She looked up at him, giving him a small smile. She knew how he actually was. He was in the ring, and he had been taught the incorrect way. He wasn't the one at fault for killing him. Plus, Kassie loved him. She sat at his bedside through all of this. She wasn't leaving now.
Arcus' jaw flexed as he thought for a second. 'Now what have I done to deserve her? I've killed a man and she still loves me. How cou-'
Kassie smiled up at him, softly kissing his cheek.
All his brain activity was brought to a halt when he saw her smile and felt her kiss.
'Ah hell...' he thought.
He blinked away tears and hugged Kassie tightly, not wanting to let go.
She hugged him back just as tight, whispering in his ear, "I'm here for the long run sweetheart, we're gonna pull through this together."
Arcus was about to respond when he looked up and he heard a sniffle coming from Sophie and Crystal.
"That..." Crystal wiped a tear from her eye, "... Was so..." she sniffled.
"Gay." Sophie completed her sentence, trying to act as if she wasn't on the verge of tears a minute ago.
"That's not what I was going to say!" Crystal said after she gasped. She looked at the two. "So should we throw a party when you guys announce everything officially?" Crystal said with a huuge grin. She loved throwing parties. But she hated the mess afterwards.
Kassie gasped and nodded. "Yeah! Let's have a huge one! With balloons and tons of cake! Chocolate and Red Velvet to be specific." she finished. It was clear this girl loved her cakes.
Arcus chuckled as Sophie scolded Crystal. "Geez. Relax you spaz! They probably want us to go away and stop ruining their Nicholas Sparks book worthy moments." Sophie says. She waits for Crystal to grab her purse and she looks at Arcus. "We'll be in the cafeteria. And don't worry, not a word passes these lips until you guys come up with a plan."
The two friends/sisters left, talking about how they would set up the ultimate party for the two of them.
Arcus laughed a bit and kissed Kassie on top of her head. He knew he was lucky and all, but he wanted to protect her. How does he deal with digital? Arcus knew that Kassie's delicate hands could deal with this. "So. What's the plan?" he asked.
Kassie sighed, thinking. The media is based about perception. What the media shows you, is what the people believe. 'The people think Arcus is a cold blooded killer.' she thought. But everyone thought Kassie was a sweetheart. So if she's seen with him...
"Hey, get some actual clothes on. Look nice, alright?" She gave him a quick kiss and rushed to the bathroom, wiping her face. She yelled at Arcus. "Get Crystal up here with makeup!"
Arcus grinned, happy that Kassie and his sisters were getting along. If Arcus had it his way, he'd be carrying Kassie everywhere and spoiling her rotten. In all honesty, he did plan on doing just that. He jumped up and got dressed, then he called Crystal about the makeup. He blinked and looked totally confused as Crystal got excited and started telling him all the makeup details. "Um... Sis... You lost me when you started talking. I blanked out." He laughed as she gasped and giggled on the other end.
Kassie made sure to wipe her face clean of makeup. This plan could backfire. Really badly. It could ruin her reputation. But this had to work. It had to!
