There was always line drawn in the hierarchy of wolves to be able to distinguish the statuses among them, on the top you have the alpha, followed by betas and gammas and the inferior one the omegas. Some were blessed to be the alpha meaning that they rule and guide their pack and protect the pack members, and their superior power over the others gives their mate the chance to rule besides them, and some were less fortunate, they were omegas, meaning they had to comply with the commands of the alpha or the betas and gammas.

Similarly Kyungsoo was always cursing his luck, he was an omega and he despised it with all his being. He never liked being an omega, when he was born his parents had to wait, as at the age of 15 it was the time where they could really determine the status of their son, to his parents and his greatest astonishment they discovered that he was an omega. Even if his parents were shocked for a brief moment as they were both betas, they didn’t waste time to coax their son and always told him that when he’ll find his mate, the person will love him for the rest of his life and will protect him from everything. Kyungsoo could only sigh at this, falling in love, finding a mate is great but what about the part where he has to be the submissive one.   

For the age of 22, kyungsoo had his share of trouble, numerous alphas, betas and gammas were always cornering him, for the intention of mating him, but he always ignored their advances like a plague, and he always avoided to come to college especially during his heat period. However, there was always one thing that irked him, practically all his friends were already mated, like the Chinese panda looking boy, Tao an omega mated to Sehun a beta, his childhood friend Baekhyun an omega, mated to an alpha Chanyeol. Seeing these 2 couples in front of him makes him cringe in envy and despair from time to time. Yet he manages to hide his feelings from the others.

Like usual the group of friends were in the canteen the first lectures were already over, amidst the loud voices of the humans, they were all seated at the table that they assigned as theirs since the first time they got in the canteen.

“Kyungsoo- ah can you please lend me your notes for the ethics class!”

Kyungsoo, who was about to take a bite of his sandwich, averted his eyes to his friend who was currently on the lap of a certain giant, his cheeks were flushed with the sweet nothings that the ominous giant was whispering, and this was one of the major weakness that kyungsoo despised, that wolves had enhanced hearing. He glared at his said friend wanting to puke by listening to those cheesy lines

“Why the hell should I lend you my notes you fucking dense idiot? Weren’t you in the same class! Couldn’t you take your own notes!”

“Whoa my owl looking friend calm your bum down! Baekkie and I were discussing things!”

Kyungsoo rolled his eyes and muttered

“Like how you guys hump like bunnies every night!”

Baek gasped and buried his face in the crook of the neck of Chanyeol, while the latter glared at kyungsoo and hissed

“Should I remind you that you’re currently talking to an alpha and his mate kyungsoo! So drop that tone and attitude you damn omega. And lend those notes to my baekkie!”

Kyungsoo pursed his lips and threw his sandwich back on the plate, his appetite was long gone after chanyeol opened his mouth, he was mentally cursing that damn giant, who was always showing off his status and making kyungsoo feel inferior. Nevertheless he threw a nasty glare to Baekhyun who was now looking at him sympathetically and moved his lips to mutter a silent sorry, but the damage was done, it was always the same damn thing when he was with these 2. He opened his bag, took out the notes and threw it on the table, and with that he closed his bag again and stood up wanting to leave this place right now.
