I sit on the side of the train platform, my feet dangling of the ledge. Even though we lost the game, I still feel pretty good about how things turned out. You know, besides the fact that my face is covered in glowing orange paint.
Everyone begins to get off the train, making their ways back to their dorms so they can sleep. I suppose I should do the same. I'm about to follow the crowd when a hand grasps my shoulder. I jump a little and pull my shoulder away, turning to face the person. Four raises an eyebrow and I bite my lip.
"Sorry." I mutter.
"That doesn't matter. I need to speak to you. Somewhere more.... Private. Go clean off your face, it's covered with paint, and meet me in the Fear Landscape room in 10 minutes." That being said, Four turns on his heel and jogs away. That was... Weird.
As odd as Four's behavior was, I decide not to test him. I quickly jog back to my dorm and scrub off the paint. I also change into some clean clothing. Black pants with a black v-neck tee shirt and my black combat boots. Then I pull my ombré hair into a messy side braid. With that, I sprint out the dorms to the Fear Landscape room.
There's just one problem though. I get lost. Like really lost. You would have thought that after over a week off training, I would know where the Fear Landscape room is. Sadly, I do not.
"Great." I mutter to myself as I slow my pace to a fast walk.
After 3 minutes wandering around confused, I run into Tris.
"Oh-Tris, hey." I greet. "Sorry I bumped into you."
"No it's okay. You need help?" Tris asks. I nod.
"Yeah, I was looking for the Fear landscape room but I got lost. You know where I would find it?" I respond.
"Yeah, just down the hall and then take 2 rights and a left. It's the metal door at the end of the corridor." She says.
"Thanks."
"No problem," Tris says, "why are you looking for the Fear Landscape room anyways?"
"Oh, uh-Four asked me to meet him there. He said he needed to talk to me privately." I explain. Her face contorts into a look of confusion. Trust me, I'm just as confused as she is. But then her face changes into a different expression: Jealousy.
I quickly excuse myself before anything happens between us and go down the hall she pointed to earlier. I look back to see the tips of her blonde hair whirl around a corner.
I bite my lip as I reach the door. I slowly push it open to reveal Four, waiting for me.
"Um, hi." I squeak, announcing my presence. He turns to face me.
"Hi." He says. "Your probably wondering why I asked you to come. Am I right?"
I nod. He bites his bottom lip and looks to the side.
"Maybe you should sit down." He says, gesturing to a chair. I sit.
"Okay... So?" I prompt, still wanting to know why I'm here.
He looks nervously around the room.
"Okay, where do I begin... I've needed to talk to you since I first saw you hit that net but I wasn't sure if you hated me."I cut him off. "Why would I hate you Four? I literally just met you like a week ago." Now I'm really confused. He looks confused as well.
"You don't....recognize me?" He stutters. I shake my head.
"Should I?" I question.
"Olivia, it's me. Tobias."
I stop breathing. I stop blinking. I just sit there, trying to comprehend what I just heard.
