Glaring, white light is all I see as I blink my eyes repeatedly, trying to adjust to the lighting. The timer in the corner of the room reads 4 minutes and 39 seconds. I feel a smile break out onto my face as I realize that that is the amount of time it took for me to face my four fears.
I walk back over to my friends. I am immediately by numerous congratulations, but my mind is else where. I know I'm out of the fearscape now, but a little part of me is still scared, like the memories of what happened are about to jump out of my thoughts and into reality.
Luckily, I was one of the last initiates to go, meaning I don't have long to wait before I can leave, and hopefully go eat. What can I say? All that panic makes you hungry!
Everyone stands up to leave. I follow suit, and head for the door when a hand grasps my forearm. Out of habit, I gasp and pull my arm out of the clutch and swing around so I'm holding the person in a headlock.
Then I release the person from the headlock as I realize it's just Eric...
"Sorry," I mutter, "I'm still a little on edge."
"It's fine," he reassures me. I lock eyes with his piercing blue ones and sigh. Moments like these make me glad I fought. Fought for 16 years until my freedom. Even when knew that giving up would be easier....I pull myself out of my thoughts and notice everyone lining up.
"Eric, what's going on?" I ask, curious.
"Oh, nothing," he says, "just injecting some trackers, its a new safety measure we thought we'd try."Eric lifts up what looks like an electronic doctors needle.
"This won't hurt."Without much warning, Eric plunges the needle into my neck.
"Ow, you liar. That hurt like a bitch." I say annoyed, rubbing my neck.
"Sorry." Eric says. Wrap my arms around his torso. I press my face against his clothed, yet still very defined, abs.
"I'll manage." I mumble into his shirt. He chuckles. I pull away from the hug and go to join my friends.••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
Switching to Tobias/Four POV (for lazy authors convenience #sorrynotsorry)~Also: time skip!~
I knew something was up the moment I first heard about Eric's so called "tracking devices". I should've known-the dauntless were never ones to take "safety measures". I know the attack was going to happen eventually. I didn't know how or when, but that doesn't matter anymore. The entire dauntless population is under some mind control and is on their way to kill the abnegation. Unless, of course, their divergent.
The train lurches to the side, but the brain dead dauntless zombies stay upright. I'm worried about Tris, Zeke, Shauna, and everyone else I've grown close to in dauntless, but most of all I'm worried about Liv. Trial and I should be safe from the mind control, being divergent and all, but Liv is straight dauntless. Lets just hope she doesn't do anything to stupid under Eric's control before I can fix all of this.
A small hand slips next to mine and grips it. I feel a slight squeeze and let out a sigh of relief-it's Tris. I squeeze her hand back and stare blankly, trying to blend in with the others.

As the train pulls around to the dusty abnegation sector, the brain dead dauntless immediately hop off one after another. I quickly glance at Tris before we follow suit.
