Jack and I are still looking for houses to live in together.
Right now Jack and I are driving Comet to the vet for his shots.
"Wait Jack stop," I order, something on the side of the road catching my eye.
My boyfriend listens, slowing down and pulling over as soon as he can, which was soon because we're on a side road.
I open the car door, stepping out, and Jack follows me out of curiosity.
"Oh," I gasp, my eyes focusing on the damaged turtle.
The shell is cracked and I can see his eyes flickering between closed and open.
"Do you want to bring him with? The vet could probably check him out," Jack offers.
I nod, grabbing a towel from the back of the car (I always throw random things back there... Jack tells me not to but I do it without remembering).
I put the towel down in front of his front two feet and pull the towel back slowly until his whole body's on it.
"Comet you stay back there," I warn as I get back into the passenger's seat.
We go to the vet's office where Comet gets his shots and now it's the turtle's turn.
"He will be fine, he just needs some special attention," the vet starts. "Someone will need to put this ointment on his shell two times a day and put this medicine in his food."
"I'll do it," I offer immediately.
"You'd have to do that for ten weeks, then."
"Alright!"
The vet leaves to get the ointment and medicine and Jack gives me a 'really?' look.
"What?" I ask confused.
"Did you think about asking me before adopting a turtle?"
"Oh sorry, I forgot that we're going to live together," I gush.
He laughs and kisses me. "It's fine baby. We'll get used to it eventually."
