Daire was currently hanging out with Allison and Lydia, the three of them getting ready for a fun night out at the ice rink.
(Which is what those keys were for apparently)
Though she would admit that she's still salty over the fact that they weren't celestial gate keys and the fact that this night out was about to become a double date with Daire as the 5th wheel, she was super excited to ice skate.
The three girls were about to hit the road, well Allison and Daire were...Lydia was busy taking selfies, when someone knocked on Allison's door. Lydia, oblivious to the world around her didn't move. Daire looked over to see her uncle leaning against the door jamb. Daire thanked her lucky stars that it wasn't her Grandfucker or Victoria, dealing with those two family members was like dealing with bag of cats.
Not fun.
Allison sighed and walked over to her father as he did the little come here motion with his finger. Daire was perfectly content with just eavesdropping on their conversation, but ended up getting summoned as well. The two of them were very confused as Chris pulled them out of the room.
"Going out girls?" he asked.
"Just studying," Allison replied.
Her father gave her a look.
" Not to interrupt this lovely daddy daughter moment," Daire interjected, "but you can't force us to stay home."
"I'm well aware, Daire," he stated. "I just wanted to know how your friend was doing."
Daire lifted an eyebrow.
Chris sighed, "So how is Lydia?"
"What?" Allison asked. "You want us to stop hanging out with her or something?"
"We've had this conversation before Uncle Chris, you don't have a say with who I hang out with. Even if they're not human enough for your tastes."
"No, that's not it. I'm just trying to....keep an eye on her. Maybe you could help," Chris stated looking more at Allison than at Daire. "Make sure nothing...happens to her. Nothing supernatural," he ended. Daire knew that the last statement was directed at her. Apparently her family is still bitter about the fact that their perfect little weapon decided to think for herself and make friends with the werewolves instead of killing them.
Daire and Allison jerked their thumbs back at Lydia, who was now taking duck face selfies on Allison's chair.
"Seems pretty normal to me," his daughter smirked.
"Now that that's over, we gotta get going," Daire smiled, grabbing Allison's hand. "Come on Lydia, we gotta go!"
The strawberry blonde looked up from her cell and grimaced. "But I'm not done yet."
Daire smirked at her uncle, "See? still the same Lydia."
They just hoped she would stay that way.

Once the five of them entered the ice rink, Daire wasted no time to get on the ice. It had been years since she took lessons but she was having a blast skating around the rink and watching her best friends on their date.
She could see Allison trying to teach Scott how to skate, and how he would fail miserably. Daire thought it was hilarious that a big, strong, and athletic werewolf couldn't even skate without holding onto her cousin for life support.
She could also hear Stiles and Lydia, who were up on the bleachers. Stiles was attempting to give Lydia his orange sweatshirt for warmth but Lydia refused him out flat saying that orange and blue were a horrendous color combination.
A smile made it's way onto Daire's face, just the fact that she's able to hang out with her friends like this made her so happy. At one point in her life, she didn't think she would ever be able to make friends, let alone deserve them. Even now Daire couldn't believe how lucky she is to have made so many friends. Friends that she would do anything for, and nothing made her happier.
Daire continued to skate, watching everyone. Scott still continued to fall on his ass and Lydia was skating like a professional figure skater.
No surprise.

At some point Allison and Scott left the ice rink to adventure elsewhere and Daire decided to get a snack from the nearest vending machine.
Just as she grabbed her goldfish a feminine scream echoed throughout the building. Daire looked up from her snack to see Lydia wailing in a crouched position in the middle of the rink. She was clawing and slapping the ice as if there was something under it.
Against her better judgement, Daire stuffed the goldfish into her jacket pocket and started of towards the strawberry blonde. Jumping back into the rink and skating to her. As she reached Lydia, Daire dropped to her knees on the ice behind her. It wasn't the most graceful or painless of landings but Daire ignored it, she could feel the numbing fear coming off Lydia in waves. Daire wrapped her arms around her, trying to provide some comfort. But screams still raked through her body, similar to the night at the hospital. Daire did everything she could to pull Lydia out of her trance but she wouldn't budge. From the other end of the rink, Allison and Scott were skating over and Stiles was on the way, but her full attention was on Lydia.
"Lydia...Lydia!" Daire called trying to reach her, but it seemed that Lydia couldn't hear her over her screams.
Daire sucked in a breath to call one last time, "LYDIA!!"
Her scream instantly stopped and the tension suddenly left Daire as she slouched down on the ice.
Lydia's green eyes glistened with tears as she turned to face Daire, her lip quivering. Allison crouched besides both of them, resting her hand on Lydia's shoulder.
"The ice," Lydia muttered quietly. "The ice..."
Allison and Daire shared a glance before looking down at the patch of ice she had been desperately attacking with her hands. Nothing was wrong with it, it was just plain ice.
But Daire couldn't help but wonder.
Why had Lydia screamed?
And what had she seen?
