Unexpected Guest

"Oh almost forgot, I invited Ember over to your place before the party." Zoe says nonchalantly as she continues randomly ranting about Ethan or whatever his face's name.

I stay quiet, still stunned by what she so randomly added to the conversation. Zoe didn't even notice, well I couldn't blame her, it wasn't out of the ordinary for me to zone out during one of her boy rants while I add some "uh huhs, okays, and no ways" into the conversations. But this time, I was completely quiet.

Ember was going to be at my place tonight.

What the actual fuck? Did she really just invite someone over to my house? Who does that?

"Um..yeah of course Zoe. Feel free to invite everyone else. " I couldn't help but sound sarcastic.

Ever since I saw Ember last week, I admit I avoided her like the plague. I mean, who wouldn't? Part of me just wished it never happened but it did, so there's nothing I could do about that.

Ember avoided me too. Whenever, she saw me walking with Liam, side by side, Ember would immediately stop in her tracks and turn another direction.

It was awkward but I didn't want it to be.

She actually seemed like a really fun and sweet person, I'm guessing from her Instagram. Not that I stalked her. Her photo just randomly showed up in my explore page one day.

"Hello? Adeline are you there?" Earth to this bitch ass hoe!"

"Oh...yeah." I reply as I make my way to my closet and start putting together an outfit for tonight's party.

"Okay well she's coming in like ten minutes. I'll be there in like a bit. I'm hanging out with Bryan right now. I'll text you when I get there okay hoe. You better answer. By the way, what the hell did you do with my extra pair of keys ?"

Before I could even respond, I heard someone in the background whisper something before the phone call abruptly ended.

Well I guess Bryan is her new eye candy for the month.

The time read 8:26. I mentally calculated how long it would take me to get ready before Zoe and Ember would get here. A quick five minute shower would have to do.

Anyways Zoe would call me when she's on her way.

As I quickly strip down from my skinny jeans and halter top, I wrap a rosy pink towel around my body. Hair pulled up into a messy bun,I jogged into my bathroom, remembering to set my alarm to five minutes.

*brrrrrinnggg* my alarm goes off

Emerging from the bathroom, I quickly glance at my phone.

A new message from Liam.

Liam💜: hey babe, I'm gonna hang out with the boys for a while before the party. We're just celebrating the big win tonight. I'll pick you up at 10? :) XO

A smile immediately appeared on my face, Liam and I have gotten pretty serious in just a couple of days. Things were moving too fast but we didn't mind it at all. When we took a romantic stroll around the lake last week, we just talked for hours about everything.

Little things. Stupid things. Things that were important to us.

I couldn't stop smiling like a fool, I couldn't help but feel happy around him. He just made me happy , simple as that.

We were inseparable.

Once we were able to put our shyness on the side and lay the cards on the table, we realized we actually had a lot in common.
