We arrived fifteen minutes before David was to go on. I had expected this to be just a night out with the girls, but I was sadly mistaken. It was nothing like what I had expected. There was a long line of people waiting to get in that wrapped around the corner. Rachel took Gwen's wrist and Gwen grabbed mine, pulling us right inside. I could hear the frustrated people groaning about how that wasn't fair because they were waiting forever in line.

Inside the place was packed. I guess David wasn't kidding when he said they had a pretty good local following. Gwen and Rachel pushed their way through the crowded room, dragging me by the hand behind them, until we made it to the left side of the stage. We were right next to the speakers. My ears started ringing, and then popped.

Rachel shouted, “ David is on next!” Of course, no matter how much she shouted right now, it sounded no louder than a dull whisper to me. This was insane, I had never been anywhere like this before. Wall to wall mayhem and people everywhere. The lights flickered in shades of red and blue, some idiot turned on the bubble and fog machines at the same time and there were neon lights decorating the bar. With all the fog and bubbles they looked like nothing than low beam headlights in the rain of black ashes before a volcanic eruption. There were a few tables and chairs set up, no where near enough to accommodate the vast sea of bodies that occupied the building.

The DJ was just about finished with his set, and the band was waiting on the side of the stage to take their places. The bass from the speakers left my body trembling and my hearing almost non-existent. Yeah, this would definitely take some getting used to. I watched the band for a minute until I realized who they were. I had seen them all previously the night before on the prehistoric tour bus. They looked even better in the bright light than they had in the soft glow of the moon. The drummer looked down and met my stare, and I quickly became flushed and turned away.

That's when I saw him. No perfect angel had anything on this exquisite being that had entered the room. When he walked in he brought an additional haze with him. Everything began to blur and then disappear. All sound became a feint muffled echo in the background, and all I could make out clearly was the pounding of my heart. All I could feel was the blood rushing in my veins like wild white water rapids. He was coming closer. My eyes focused on every detail, his broad shoulders, his perfectly formed biceps, his impeccably chiseled torso. He was walking in my direction.

His honey blond hair was shaggy with some a slight wave to it. He brushed it back with his hand, exposing the god like quality of his face. His eyes were a deep brown, almost black, except for a ring of gold that encircled them. I couldn't help but to focus on his mouth. It was just as captivating as the rest of him. He took another step closer. I felt my knees begin to buckle, my palms were getting clammy, and I suddenly found myself extremely dizzy and losing my balance. This overwhelming sensation was unlike anything that I've ever felt before. I couldn't breath. It felt like a dream, one that I so wanted to be real. He was now standing no more than five feet away, and I couldn't pull myself together. What was wrong with me?

“Hey.”

Oh, my God he spoke. The sound of his voice rang in my ears like the sweetest melody. It was the voice that had been playing over and over in my head since the night before. It was him, he was with them last night on the tour. Was he talking to me? Would I be able to respond? And then just as I found the will to open my mouth to speak, came a disaster. I fell backwards, slamming down on the hardwood floor of the club. I fainted like a jackass.

I came to a few minutes later. Gwen, and this heavenly man, were huddled over me. I felt all the blood rush to my face. I was so embarrassed, I wanted to die.

“Ellie, are you alright? What happened?” Gwen's voice was frantic. “Are you sick?”

“I..... I think … I am OK, I don't know what that was.” Yeah like I was going to admit that my breath was, literally, taken away by the god sent. I tried to lift myself up, but fell back down.
