Awoken

Julio woke up the next morning in bed. He looked around and saw that the house wasn't destroyed and left in ruins. He noticed the ring on his finger. Julio pulled it off and put it back on.

Nothing happened.

"Was that all just a dream?" Julio said to himself, "It felt so real."

Rodrigo walked into the room.

"Hey bro," he said, "Your finally awake. The pancakes are ready so come on downstairs and eat."

Julio noticed that Rodrigo didn't have his ring on.

"What happened yesterday?" he asked, "Why doesn't my ring work?

"Well it's a fake," Rodrigo said, "Come down and eat so I can explain what happened."

The two walked down stairs into the dining room.

"This looks nothing like our old house," Julio said.

"Well yeah," Rodrigo said, "We moved from the old place and got one out of the city so that it won't get destroyed like last time. You were asleep the whole time."

The two sat down at the table and started eating.

"So what happened?" asked Julio

"We were all swallowed whole by the World Eater of Darkness," Rodrigo said, "While inside his stomach, we were slowly being digested. We look around for an escape and Toby found a large crystal that was completely black. It was his power and life source, so we shot beams of light at it and destroyed it. The World Eater then started to disappear into thin air and we escaped it's stomach. That's when we knew we won the battle."

"So the World Eater is no longer a threat?" asked Julio.

"Exactamundo mi amigo!" Toby said.

"Where is my ring then?" Julio said.

"They're in the basement, charging up for the next problem we might have to face," Rodrigo said.

"Where were the Guardians of the Galaxy when you needed them the most," Toby said.

"You know that's just a movie right?" said Naudia.

"I know," Toby said, "But that would be cool if they were real."

"So what are your plans for today?" asked Stephanie.

"Me?" Rodrigo said, "Nothing at all."

"Then I'll get to kick your butt in Mario Kart 8 after breakfast," she said.

"Your going to have to try real hard if you want to beat me!" Rodrigo told her.

Jasmine came up behind Julio and kissed him on the cheek. Julio looked over to her and gave her the biggest smile.

"Looks like everything worked out in the end," Julio said.

"Its like all the fairy tales," Toby said, "A happy en..."

Rodrigo's phone started ringing. He answered it. Luis was on the other side.

"Guys," he said, "I'm flying down to Los Angeles. We have a unknown rogue Kryptonian attacking the city so hop to it."

"Don't you mean 'fly to it'?" Toby said.

"Shut up and get over here," Luis said.

Rodrigo hung up the phone.

"A hero's job is never over," Rodrigo said, "Now let's go!"
