Toby Hesley was running down the streets of Detroit. He ran around a corner into an alley. At the end there was a wall.
"No no no," he said, "Please be a trick."
Toby ran straight at it. He hit the wall an fell.
"It wasn't a trick," Toby mumbled.
He looked around and saw a fire escape.
"There he is!" someone yelled.
"Get him!" yelled another.
Toby ran towards the fire escape and started climbing.
As Toby neared the top, he saw that a ladder was missing.
"No!" Toby yelled.
"We got you now kid," said a man.
"Yeah," said another, "you owe us big time."
"Not today!" Toby said.
He kicked the first guy and used him as a stepping stool. Toby then used the other men as stepping stones, stepping on their shoulders. He jumped off the last guy and grabbed on to the rail of the fire escape above them.
"Later losers!" Toby said as he climbed the last ladder.
He reached the top of the building and ran across the rooftop. He jumped from building to building till he knew he was far away from those people.
He looked around and saw that he was standing on a rooftop near the subway. Panting, he walked towards it. He looked both ways and saw a train coming to his left. Toby backed away and got ready to jump on the train. Suddenly gunshots fired from the train.
"Thought you left us huh?" someone yelled from the train.
"You guys fill me with so much rage!" Toby yelled out.
"Fire!"
Bullets flew towards Toby. He ran behind a rooftop entrance into the building for cover. The door opened and a man came out onto the roof. The man was shot instantly.
His limp body fell towards Toby. He was breathing heavily.
"Toby Hesley of planet Earth," said the man.
Toby was stunned at how he knew his name.
"My name is Hairk," he continued, "I was sent to recruit you into our Corps known as the Rage Corps. I saw you take down many and your skills shall be put to good use in our Corps. Grant this alien's dying wish, join the Corps and take down these people. You will need this ring."
Hairk handed Toby a red ring.
"Put it on and its power shall be yours."
And with one final breath, Hairk died in Toby's arms.
Toby looked at the ring and put it on. A red suit appeared on his body and a mask covered his eyes.
Toby flew up from behind the rooftop entrance and looked at his enemies.
"Prepare to face the power of Rage Mage!" Toby yelled out.
"Quit with the games Toby," said a man, "Fire!"
Toby thought of something that would protect him.
A shield would work! Toby thought.
A red shield formed from the energy of his ring. It deflected the bullets away from him.
"You people really like guns," Toby said, "so how about I show you a gataling gun!"
Within seconds, a large red gataling gun appeared and fired at the gang of men.
"Retreat!" someone yelled.
The gang ran back towards the subway train. They started it and headed back in the direction it came in.
"Here's a little parting gift," Toby said.
A red present fell in front of the train.
"This is an antique that loves to go boom," Toby said.
The present opened and a red cannon appeared and was pointed towards the train. It fired and headed towards the train.
"Oh sh.."
The train blew up in a fiery ball.
"Don't mess with the Rage Mage," Toby said, "Time to get home."
He flew towards his house and landed at the front door. He took off the ring, put it in his pocket and pulled out his keys.
"What an interesting day," Toby said to himself.
