I Am Cancer ((A Deadpool Story))
Chapter 9:- Found
Tony had found the voices in Wade's head, and was trying to work out ways for him to get rid of them, without them regenerating. Wade however, was lying in a bed Tony had given him, crying. 'He's seen you now, he'll have nightmares of you.'
'HE'S PROBABLY WONDERING HOW SOMEONE SO UGLY CAN BE A HERO.'
'He's not even a hero.'
The voices continued to argue and insult him, as he tried to block them out. Tony had offered to call Peter, but Wade had rejected the notion, not wanting the boy to see him in this state. Wade's phone continued to ring, as Peter tried to get hold of him. He felt bad for not replying, but he was scared Tony had told him what he really looked like.
'He's probably texting you to see if you're dead yet.'
'HE'D BE BETTER OFF IF WE WERE DEAD.'
'You'd be better of dead.'
Wade took a deep breath deciding to read the messages that Peter had sent him, hoping they'd be nice and might cheer him up. He smiled as he read through them.
'Hey I'm worried about you, call me?'
'Hope you're okay Wade, please call me, I need to talk to you.'
'I wanted to know if you're free tonight?'
'Wade please...'
'We're all going to a festival on Saturday, wanna come?'
'Tony said you're staying at Stark tower, if everything okay?'
Obviously Tony hadn't told him about what he looked like, or the voices, he still wanted to talk to him. Wade thought about how insane Peter must be for ever wanting to be his friend. When they had first met, he treated Peter like shit, telling him he was him from the future, and causing him to cry.
"Will you please call Peter, he's worried..." Steve said as he walked past Wade's room. Wade sighed, and began typing out Peter's number, and pressed call. He could hear the ringing over the voices, and tried as hard as he could to just focus on the noise from the phone.
"Wade!" Peter shouted into the reciever. Wade could tell he was smiling from the way he spoke.
"Hey Peter..." He said, in a rather fed up tone of voice. Wade sighed and wiped a tear from his cheek, as the voices tried to talk over Peter.
"Tony said you were at Stark Tower, are you okay? You havn't hurt yourself have you?" Peter rushed out. Wade sighed again, wanting to tell him everything, but knowing he would hate him, thinking he would hate him. He couldn't risk it.
Wade stayed silent, trying to find a way to explain why he was at the tower, but coming up with nothing, until the voices pulled him out of his daydream. "Wade?" Peter asked, "Would you mind if I came to see you? I'm worried about you."
"No!" Wade snapped, panicking. Peter felt his heart break, how could his friend want to be alone at a time like this? Did it really scare him that much. "No... sorry... I'm just going to go to sleep, I'm pretty tired after tonight. I'll see you tomorrow?" He said and hung up.
Wade threw his phone on the table beside the bed, before shoving his face into the pillow and screaming.
Tony and Steve could hear him battleing with himself as they sat upstairs, tinkering in the lab. "We need to find something... He can't continue to hear these voices." Tony said listening to the screams of the tortured man.
"Tortures of the damned... Maybe we could remove that section of the brain, maybe it'll stop the voices, at least until we can figure out a way to get rid of them completely." Steve suggested. Tony nodded, and walked off to get the hit man.
