After the staff came into the room, and i woke up, i noticed that my roommate wasn't there. I got up and slowly walked out of my room and looked down the hallway. It was about 7:00am, the staff told me that i needed to make my bed and then go out to what they call the "day room" which was the room with all the chairs and tables and the t.v. So i made my bed and then went out to the day room and sat at the furthest table closet to the corner waiting for everyone else to come out. One by one, they would wake up and walk down the hallway, at the end of the hallway there is a room to your left called the activity room, that rooms walls all but two were glass, so the staff and doctors could see through to make sure whoever is in there is safe. As people were walking out they would see me. They looked at me and some smiled. Some told me "hi" or "good morning" After everyone came out they took everyone down to the cafeteria for breakfast. I wasn't allowed to leave the unit because anyone who is new to the hospital would have to stay on 24 hour watch, which pretty much meant that the two double doors everyone else comes in and out from, i wasn't allowed near. Well not until the 24 hours is up or until i saw the one doctor that ran 6 units in the hospital. Dr. Rodriguez. Her Husband owned GBHI, he was the one who built it and managed it. The first person to actually talk to me there besides my roommate, was a girl named channel. She was a very skinny girl, with messy blond hair. She wasn't all there, and it was obvious, but she could also maintain a conversation, man could that girl talk. After a few hours i started making more and more friends. Started socializing more. The kids in there, they are different from the other kids on the other sides of those walls. These kids, they understand what it is like to be labeled as an outcast, or to be constantly hurt and just wanting to end it. 95% of the kids here are because of suicide ideas or attempts. It is Tuesday, and visitation days aren't until Wednesdays and Saturdays. So pretty much all day i met new people, new therapists and just colored and watched T.V. There isn't much to do here when you are not allowed to leave the unit. Later that day there was a group of kids who just hanged out together in the corner and just laughed and shared stories. I was sitting alone just writing in a journal they give you so you can just write about what you are feeling and expierencing.  Then this girl named Kamryn called me over and told me that i was in this band that they were creating in GBHI. I smiled, but then didn't think much about it. Finally about 7 in the evening the doctor finally came and talked to me, i had to explain to her why i was admitted here. She then told me that she was going to start me on medication called "effexor" and then a sleeping medication for my insomnia called "meletonan." Finally 8 oclock came and it was time for what was called hygene which meant that you go take your shower and change into your sleep clothes is you wanted you could also brush your teeth and just get ready for bed, kids that were on red had to go to sleep at 9 o'clock kids on yellow had to go to sleep at 9:30 and the kids on green got to go to sleep at 10 o'clock. Since i was on the 24 hour red i had to go to sleep, so after i took a shower i went back out to the day room which were they allowed us to watch the T.V show called rick and Morty. After a while 9 o'clock hit and they started addressing everyone that was on red to go to their rooms, I went to my room and started writing in my journal, just about how the first day was, and everything. After writing in my journal i started talking to Austin (my roommate) Since he was on green, he came to the room about 10. Tomorrow i would be moved to green, so ill be able to go down to the cafeteria and actually leave the unit.
