Fate and coincidents (Joshaya)

Chapter 4

Josh pov

I hit one of them in the head, making him instantly fall to the ground. The other guy turned around, instantly reacting by hitting me in the face. I responded with a punch in his eye. While he had some trouble seeing I took the chance and hit him in the head with the metal. He finally fell to the ground, unconscious. Maya had distanced herself from the bloody fight.

I started walking towards her slowly, not wanting to scare her away. She looked at me with horror. She was probably traumatized.

"Maya? Are you okay?" I whispered slowly while reaching out a hand. She just looked at it. Then I noticed all the blood, it wasn't mine.

"Josh?" She whispered looking me in the eyes.

"Maya it's okay, you're safe." I said walking closer towards her.

"Josh look out!" She screamed and before I had the time to react he ran straight towards her, with a knife in his hand. I instantly took the piece of metal, and once again I hit him in the head, a lot harder and he finally fell unconscious.

I looked up to see if Maya was okay. She was looking at a metallic object, stuck in her shoulder. He had managed to stab her with the knife. Without hesitating I picked her up like a little child. Sprinting out from the alley as fast as I could, trying to keep her awake.

"Josh, what is happening?" She cried into my shoulder. It was heartbreaking and the only thing that kept me going was adrenaline, pumping through my veins, and Mayas slow breathing.

"Maya, you stay with me ok? You are going to be alright, I just need you to stay with me." I said, every breath feeling like knifes in my chest.

"Josh, I'm tired." She quietly whispered, slowly slipping away from me. I ran even faster, knowing it was a hospital just a few blocks away.

"Please Maya, I love you." I quietly mumbled under my breath, knowing I was the only one that heard my words. Sprinting through the doors of the hospital.

"Help, she has been stabbed!" I screamed, making doctors and nurses sprint towards me and Mayas lifeless body.

"Please don't leave me Maya!" I cried, kissing her forehead before I let the doctors take her away. She's a fighter, I thought before falling to the ground, exhausted.
