Fate and coincidents (Joshaya)

Chapter 5

Maya Pov

The pain, it wasn't like anything I had felt before. I didn't feel it at first, all I could feel at first was the fear. It was like a cold hand gripping my heart tightly. And it made me froze. I couldn't help Josh. I wasn't even able to call for help. I was just broken. And then the knife pierced through my shirt, into my stomach. I didn't even feel it. I just looked at it, feeling a bit dizzy with all the blood.

Then I was moving, fast. All I could focus on was the smell of Josh Matthews. I couldn't even manage to open my eyes. I was dying, right here, in Josh's arms, and it was ok. I was in the arms of the boy I had always loved. Why were we running? I don't remember. I was just dizzy.

"Josh, what is happening?" I cried into his shoulder. My head was blank, I couldn't remember.

"Maya, you stay with me ok? You are going to be alright, I just need you to stay with me." He said. Was I in danger, am I hurt?

"Josh, I'm tired." I whispered, feeling the arms of the darkness slowly taking me away, taking me away from Josh.

"Please Maya, I love you." I heard Josh mumble. My heart skipped a beat. Josh loves me was all I could think of before the darkness took over and everything turned black.

It was black. It felt like I was floating, it felt good. It was so calm and quiet. I wanted to stay here forever. Please Maya, I love you. Josh! Josh loves me, where is he? My eyes shot open. I was standing in a room that I had never been in before, but I knew that I was in a hospital. I turned around, seeing a blond girl asleep in a bed. She looked so much paler then I was used to.

My skin had always been pale, I knew that, but I had never looked so... dead. I was more grey then pale. It made my stomach turn and I felt like vomiting. Am I dead? I can't be. I wasn't ready yet.

"Is she alright? Can I see her? Please!" I heard a familiar voice cry out in desperation. I knew that it was Josh.

"She is very unstable right now, she lost a lot of blood and her heart stopped once. We got it to beat again but we don't know if she will wake up, I'm sorry but we have done everything we can. It's up to Maya now." A woman answered, what did she mean? Am I going to die?

Josh walked up towards my body and took my hand, kissing it before falling to his knees, crying. I have to wake up. I have to fight for Josh.

Josh pov

She couldn't die. I loved Maya Hart more than I loved myself. I had been so stupid, thinking that we had all the time in the world, now the chances were big that I would never hear her voice again, never see her beautiful smile, and never kiss her lips. A world without Maya Hart was not a world I wanted to live in.

I had already talked to the police and they were out looking for those monsters that caused this. They hadn't been successful yet but it had only been a couple of hours since then. I sat by her side all night, not getting any sleep. How could I sleep, not knowing if she would live when I opened my eyes? I had called the Matthews, Shawn and Katie. They were on their way but they were stuck in traffic. I was the only one she had here. I couldn't leave her.

I finally let my head rest on her bed. Almost asleep I thought of everything I would say to her if she woke up. I had wasted so much time already. My eyes got heavier and heavier and then I felt a hand on my shoulder. It was Cory.

"You can sleep, it's okay Josh. We will watch her for you." He said with tears in his eyes. Riley had taken the seat next to me. I knew that I should probably sleep, but I just couldn't leave her, not right now. My shirt was full of blood, Mayas blood. Riley cried, she had taken Mayas hand, I knew that she was going to watch her for me. With that in my mind I finally let myself put my head down and fell asleep.
