physically drained. Tomorrow would be a new day, a new start, and maybe he could talk to Dean in person then. ~ In his dream, he ran and never stopped. He needed to get to the light, away from the darkness that slowly engulfed him. ~ "You look tired." Sam said as he walked up to Castiel. "Good morning to you too." Sam grimaced, looking over Castiel's shoulder. He pulled the straps of his bag and loosened them again multiple times. "Where is Gabe?" Castiel shrugged his shoulders. He'd woken up in an empty house, no sign that Gabriel had ever returned during the night. "He went out with friends last night, didn't came back home. He might have crushed at a friend's?" Castiel offered and motioned Sam to follow him, once he had all the books he needed for the day. They walked in silence and when they reached Sam's classroom, Castiel stopped to put a hand on Sam's arm, squeezing lightly. "Don't worry, he's probably just late and will meet us during lunch," he reassured his friend and smiled encouragingly at him. ~ His teacher was late, his classmates being like kids on the playground, and Castiel was bored. He fished his phone out of his bag and read his messages. Apparently, Dean had sent him three more last night and one only a few minutes ago. 'Oh, goodnight.' 'Sleep tight.' 'Don't let the bedbugs bite. Hehe ;)' Castiel grinned and wished he'd have read that last night, maybe his dream wouldn't have been so disturbing then. 'Can we talk today?' He stared at his phone, thumbs hovering over the screen, ready to answer. He wanted to talk to Dean, but he found it easier to talk over the phone - not getting distracted by Dean or forced to hide the emotions on his face. 'Can't today. Weekend?'When Castiel went home that day, Gabrielle was sprawled out on the couch, snoring like there was no tomorrow. Castiel grabbed the blanket, that hung over the backrest, and tucked his brother in. He couldn't resist and gave Gabrielle a peck on his cheek. Gabriel grumbled and turn on his side, hiding his face in the pillows. ~ The rest of the week was uneventful. Sam, Charlie, Jess and Ash would join Castiel during lunch and sometimes they walked home together. After school, he focused on homework and occasionally texted Dean. They set a day and time, Dean would pick Castiel up at three in the evening on Saturday. Castiel was nervous, but also glad they would finally be able to fix things, hopefully. ~ When Saturday came around, Castiel took an extra shower and tried to dress up extra nicely, just in case. He spent the morning playing xBox with Gabriel and then for lunch they both cooked, which ended in a disaster so they just ordered pizza. A few minutes before three, Castiel's phone vibrated. 'I'm outside, sorry I'm early.' Castiel smiled and typed a quick response. Gabriel noticed the change of mood in his brother and grinned. "Dean date? Oh a double d, nice." Castiel rolled his eyes and put on his jacket. Before he left the house he checked if he had his keys, because he never knew if Gabriel would be home or not. His heart was fluttering in his chest, making him feel dizzy as he walked towards Dean's car. The squeak of the door sent chills up Castiel's spine and he shuddered. This was happening, he was going to spend time with Dean. "Hey." Dean said, a smile tugging on his lips. Castiel nodded once, looking at the road ahead of them. "Hello, Dean." Dean waited for more, but Castiel didn't say anything else, so he started the car and led them out of town and to the diner they'd first spent time together. They didn't talk much, but it wasn't uncomfortable. Dean sang along the songs, humming to the beats. The big red letters hadn't changed and were still beaming as brightly as the first time they'd been
