Chapter 14

Chapter 14 (Not applicable for readers below 16 years old. You've been warned. Lol)

Walang nagsasalita. Parehong nagpapakiramdaman ang dalawa habang nakaupo sa eleganteng couch. The rain just gotten worst. It won't stop no matter how she tried to pray to mollify it.

She's worried about her sister at baka nag-aaalala na ito lalo na't hindi pa siya umuuwi. It's already 11:30 in the evening pero mukhang walang planong humupa ang ulan. Besides, sobrang awkward din sa pakiramdam na kasama niya si Zach sa isang isolated na lugar. She would like to break the ice between them but her tongue would not cooperate.

"Just tell me if you're cold," he said. Nakita siguro nito na nanginginig siya sa ginaw. Concern ba ito? But Zach is not the type of person who randomly offers help unless it is related to the project.

"Okay lang ako," she answered, not minding the frosty environment at kahit sobrang lakas ng aircon sa loob. "You're about to go somewhere, right?"

"That can wait. Ba't di mo tawagan ang ate mo?" He urged. She nodded. Ang tanga niya para hindi maisipang gawin yun kanina.

She took out her phone and checked the small screen. May 10 missed calls at 5 messages siyang natanggap. Lahat ng yun galing sa ate niya. She can only imagine the hysterical face of her sister. Imbes na tignan ang mensahe, she decided to call her back. Pagkatapos ng ilang ring ay sumagot din ito but the line wasn't that stable kaya hindi rin sila nagka-usap ng maayos.

"Darn! Walang signal. May coffee ka ba?" Wala sa sariling tanong niya. She just wanted to talk and talk dahil habang tumatagal lalong nagiging uneasy ang sitwasyon. They can be friends. Kahit ngayon lang to break the imaginary wall between them.

"Gagawa ako."

She did not expect that pero nakita niya itong tumayo at pumunta sa kitchen na malapit lang sa sala. She saw him getting the coffee maker and the mugs from the cupboard. Alam na alam nito ang ginagawa kaya naman naaliw siyang pagmasdan ito. When he saw her staring, agad niyang binaling ang tingin sa labas. Shit! Ang lakas ng kabog ng diddib niya.

He wouldn't think that I checked him out, right? She thought.

He brought the two cups of coffee and placed it on the center table pagkatapos ay pabagsak na sumalampak sa malambot na upuan. "Help yourself," alok nito.

"Thanks. How often do you go here?" Tanong niya habang humihigop ng kape. That came out of the blue, but she couldn't help it. Wala siyang ibang matinong topic na pwedeng itanong dito.

Nag-isip muna si Zach bago sumagot. "Hmm. I usually go here when I like to have sex with random women."

Napanganga siya rito at muntik niya ng maibuga ang kape. Wala man lang censor ang bunganga nito. That was totally unexpected! Pakiramdam niya'y kinapos siya ng hininga.

"N-nagbibiro ka ba!?"

"No." His eyes were still cold pero naglalaro ang ngiti sa mga labi nito.

"You're crazy! B-but that is not the reason why.. w-why we are here, r-right?"

Alex was stuttering. Alam niyang sobrang tanga at assuming ng tanong niya but she was caught off guard. It was a chilly night, most of the lights were turned off and Zach is.. well, smoking hot. Kahit ayaw niya, she was imagining things.

"What do you think?" He teasingly asked.

She stood up automatically at nakpamaywang na hinarap ito. "You've got to be kidding me, Zach!"

He leaned against the head of the couch and crossed his arms above his chest--enjoying every minute while Alex's face changed from pale to scarlet red. "What if I mean it?"

Napamaang siya--kinilabutan sa mga sinabi nito. It felt like a huge amount of electric waves ran through her entire body. Sure it was a perfect weather for most couples but for Christ's sake they barely know each other! And how could he brought such taboo topic out of nowhere. He must be messing with her.

"Gago ka pala e! I'm not that cheap! At di ba sabi mo hindi ako ang tipo mong babae!?"

"Were you hurt?"

"Of course not!"

The last part shouldn't have slipped pero nasabi niya na. She didn't mean to look offended pero naiinis siya.

"I don't have a choice. After all hindi mukha ang basehan sa kama."

Napapikit siya. Hindi siya ready sa mga ganung topic. Kahit kelan hindi siya handa sa mga ganung bagay. And she didn't expect him to be so bold dahil taliwas iyon sa karakter nito, pero ano nga bang alam niya rito bukod sa baliw ito?

She felt violated and it made her cringed. "Can you just stop saying that word!?" She screeched.

"You mean sex?"

"Stop!"

"What's wrong with sex? It's a legal word. You're used to fill in information that requires sex, right? Unless your answer is everyday then that's another story."

"Shut up!"

How could he be so insensitive? Dahil sa inis pinagbabato niya ito ng throw pillows na hinayaan lang ng binata. Tawa lang ito nang tawa habang pigil na pigil na siyang sakalin ito. Sana pala hindi na lang ito nagsalita. She would rather have him as a descent-fucking mute-weird-cold human being.

She know that he only meant it as a joke.. pero ang lintik na utak niya patuloy pa rin sa pag-iimagine ng kung anu-ano.
