-Bailey’s Inner Monologue-

Nick has made it crystal clear that he wants nothing to do with me and Kevin is by no means ready to forgive me anytime soon so with Dad’s irritation at maximum levels due to the PR fires I have decided to take refuge in my room

*bedroom door opens and Joe walks in taking a seat next to B on the bed*

(Joe) I hate seeing you so sad Monkey

(Bailey) I should have stayed in the tree house or better yet just run away no one wants me here.

(Joe) they are disappointed but they would rather you be here than anywhere else.

(Bailey) Nick keeps popping in here just to remind me what an utter disappointment I am. Kevin won’t forgive me and Dad is on the warpath over the article and has yet to talk to me.

(Joe) *hugs B* Nick is just stubborn, Kevin’s ego is a little bruised cause he got duped by his baby sister and Dad has just been busy with damage control…everything will smooth out, just give it time. In the meantime you have the comfort of knowing the most handsome brother still loves you *smiles*

(Bailey) *small smile* Love you too Joey.

-Mom’s POV-

*Mom is sitting at the counter catching up on the paper when Joe comes down the stairs and slumps into the seat next to her with a heavy sigh*

(Mom) That was a loaded sigh. What’s up?

(Joe) Just came from Bailey’s room. She said that she should have just stayed in the tree house or run away because no one wants her here.

(Mom) Is that so? Did she talk with Kevin?

(Joe) She apologized but he isn’t ready to forgive her and Nick is being a stubborn jerk…the only time he has talked to her since she got back is to tell her that everyone is sick of her crap.

(Mom) Stay down here...I’ll be back.

*Mom walks upstairs, skipping the knock she opens Nick’s bedroom door. Nick pushes himself into a sitting position and gives Mom a confused look*

(Mom) You’re grounded, effectively immediately.

(Nick) WHAT? Why, because I kept Bailey’s dirty little secret?

(Mom) No, you’re grounded because of your attitude towards your sister. So starting right now you are grounded to her room. You two will work this out or you will kill each other in the process…at this point either one works for me.

(Nick) You have got to be kidding me, I’m grounded for being mad at B? You can’t just force us to get along . . .

(Mom) You’re grounded because you have been nothing but hateful toward her as of late, I will not have one of my children bullying the other. Let’s go.

*Nick reluctantly stands up and Mom leads him to Bailey’s door before pushing it open.*

(Bailey) What’s going on?

(Mom) Your brother is going to be spending some quality time with you. Effective immediately, he’s grounded to you.

(Bailey) grounded TO me?

(Mom) consider him your shadow, you do everything together until further notice

(Nick) this is ridiculous, teaming up with Miss Trouble here is what started this whole mess

(Mom) and it’s exactly what will end it…kind of poetic, dontcha think?

*Mom walks out of the room closing the door behind her and leaving the twins to their own devices*

*B sighs and starts flipping through the magazine she was reading while watching an awkward Nick out of the corner of her eye*

(Nick) You aren’t even reading that, you are just flipping through it to flip

(Bailey) Yup! It relaxes me *smirks* Do you have to just stand there? You're creepin me out, sit down.

(Nick) *walks over to the bed* Move over.

(Bailey) I don’t think so…this is my bed...you can shadow me just fine from the floor.

(Nick) Now you’re just being mean...

(Bailey) Well after the way you've been treating me it’s high time I return the favor. You're the one sick of being my twin so privileges you had before do not transfer over to now.   

*Nick plops on the floor leaning against the bed with a sigh*

(Nick) this is the most ridiculous punishment I have ever heard of

(Bailey) are you miserable?

(Nick) yes

(Bailey) well then…seems pretty genius to me

(Nick) so you are fine with this?

(Bailey) *flips through the magazine* no, of course not, but whining like a little bitch about it doesn’t really help now does it? *cocks a brow*

(Nick) *rolls eyes* you are enjoying this….

(Bailey) making you miserable? Absolutely
