Last Day (PART TWO)

(Kevin) *peeks head into closet and cocks a brow* whatcha doooin?

(Bailey) *growls* I have no clothes!

(Kevin) *chuckles* riiiiiight….me either

(Bailey) *grumbles under her breath* Do you need something, or did you just come in here to make fun of me

(Kevin) *frowls and takes a seat beside B in the closet* I was just joking around...what’s wrong?

(Bailey) *shrugs* If I ask you a question, will you be honest with me…and like, really honest, not just say what you think I want to hear

(Kevin) always

 (Bailey) When you and Dani were dating…did you ever just think ‘why am I doing this?’

(Kevin) *cocks a brow in confusion* what do you mean?

(Bailey) I just mean…what is the point of being with someone if you can’t BE with them? Long distance relationships just seem sadistic to me, you willingly torture yourself to maintain a relationship that is primarily through a computer screen or telephone. I cannot shake that little voice in my head that keeps saying ‘Why would he be with you when he could be with someone who is HERE.’ I asked Sam and he said ‘because I love you, that’s why’ but how do you know you are in love? I don't exactly have anything to compare it to, so how do I know that what I am feeling is love and not some over joyous feeling of gratitude because we finally get to spend time together? I'm freaking out, Kev!!

(Kevin) *chuckling* Ok, first off, take a deep breath. In with the good air...out with the scary, over-analizing, crazy mental breakdown air.

*B takes a deep breath*

(Kevin) *watches B take a deep breath and smiles* sounds like you have put a lot of thought into this…

(Bailey) It seems to be all I can think about since I found out Sam couldn’t go on tour. He will be a senior this year which means on top of sports which takes a huge chunk, a lot of his time will be spent doing senior events and parties, all of which I won’t be a part of. Factor in sleeping and school and our window of time together before he leaves for college is drastically shrinking.

(Kevin) breathe B…

*B takes a deep breath again*

(Kevin) To answer your first question, yes, I would say it’s normal in every relationship for a person to wonder WHY me and certainly normal for a person with our specific circumstances. On more than one occasion, I seriously wondered why someone like Dani would put up with such a dose of crazy just to be with me. As far as love goes, it's different for everyone. It’s not something you can put into a box and define. I do, however, know love when I see it, and Sam is definitely in love with you.

(Bailey) *smiles and blushes* really?

(Kevin) *nods* and you with him.

 (Bailey) *blushes* When did you know that you were in love?

(Kevin) I knew I was in love with Dani when she tolerated my schedule, and even if I couldn't call her until 2 in the morning, she was still happy to talk to me. She was also the first thing I thought about when I woke up and the last thought on my mind before I went to sleep.

(Bailey) *coos* Awww Kevy . . .

*knock on the door*

(Dani) *pokes her head in* Can I interrupt for just a minute?

(Bailey) Sure...come on in *pats at a spot on the floor next to her*

(Dani) I was hoping I might be able to chime in on your conversation.

(Kevin) *fake appalled* Miss Deleasa, were you eavesdropping on our highly private closet meeting?

(Dani) *ignores Kevin’s teasing* The moment I knew I was in love with Kevin is when he surprised me in the middle of tour by showing up at my house just to have breakfast with me. The long distance thing was really getting to me and I missed him and was having that self-deprecating moment of ‘why am I torturing myself, he is a famous rockstar…why on earth would he want to be with a small town Jersey girl like me’ and the next thing I know he's standing at my front door, looking exhausted but with the biggest smile on his face. That was the first day we exchanged 'I Love You’s…right there on my front porch.

(Kevin) *smirking* That was a great day

(Bailey) jeez Kevin…did all the milestones in your relationship happen on her front porch?

(Kevin)  not all of them…

(Bailey) *yuck face* EWW, I’m going to pretend that didn’t sound like a cookie baking confession …

(Kevin) it wasn’t! there are other firsts Bailey Nichole…holding hands, kissing…

(Bailey) SHHHHHH ok…I get it…no need to list all the things you can do with the one you love thanks…

(Dani) *changes subject* there's another reason I'm interrupting this little closet chat…

(Bailey) Oh?

(Dani) Well as you know you are leaving for tour tomorrow and I am in the middle of trying to plan a wedding so I thought that I would go ahead and give you your bridesmaid gift now… *hands Bailey a box*

 (Bailey) *opens the box and squeals* YOU GOT ME A PHONE? And bridesmaid?

(Dani) *smiles and nods happily* I know how close you are with your brothers but I would love if you would stand by my side at the wedding.

(Bailey) *smiles and throws her arms around Dani, pulling her into a hug* I would be honored

(Dani) I may need to get a hold of you about wedding stuff while you're on tour, I figured this was the best way to do that.

(Bailey) *smile fades* guys…I love the phone, but what about Mom and Dad?

(Kevin) They were going to get you a phone anyway, but I convinced them to let Dani and I buy it. You're an important part of our wedding, and we want you involved, but we expect  you to be responsible with it…we will not be replacing it if you bust this one

(Bailey) I will do my best *hugs both Dani and Kevin* I frickin love you guys!!!    

*Mom pops her head in the closet and frowns*

(Mom) Bailey. Nichole. Jonas.

*B, Kevin, and Dani jump, startled*

(Bailey) OHMYGOSH Mom, you scared me

(Mom) want to give me one good reason why you have not packed a single thing into that suitcase?

(Bailey) *darts her eyes to Kevin* I…um…Kevin and I were having a talk…

(Dani) we distracted her, Denise. We were presenting her with her braidesmaid gift, I was just about to start helping her pack.

(Mom) *sighs and smiles* I take it you like the phone?

(Bailey) yes, I love it, thank you for allowing them to get it for me

(Mom) you are welcome, you have been without a phone for long enough, Daddy and I both decided that it's time we give you another chance to prove you can be responsible. You need to get packing if you plan to do anything with Sam tonight.

(Bailey) I was just getting ready to start…it won’t take me long.
