Bailey’s Inner Monologue

Wow. So according to Mom I was a ungrateful, whiney, self-centered, selfish little bitch. Sure, she didn’t say it in those words but her message was quite clear. Worst part was she was totally right, I mean, since Peanut entered the scene I hadn’t been there much for Livie at all, she was so consumed with Peanut and her needs I felt ignored…God the fact that I felt ignored just makes me want to slap myself right now…It’s no wonder that Kevin wont forgive me…why should he, I don’t deserve it.

*B folds and puts away all the clothes before retreating back to her room and curling up on her bed until there is a knock on her door*

(Bailey) Go away . . .

(Miley) *peeks head in* it’s me…whatcha doin?

(Bailey) nothing…I just got my butt handed to me by Mom.

(Miley) You want me to leave?

(Bailey) Stay if you want, feel free to lay here with me while I mope

*Miley walks over and lays next to B in a comfortable silence for a while before the door opens again*

(Joe) *peeks head in* There you two are ...what are you doing?

(Miley) Just laying here being mopey, well, B is…I’m just here for mope support.

(Joe) What are you moping about? what's wrong?

(Miley) She got her butt handed to her by your mom

(Bailey) Miley...

(Miley) What? He is your brother, he is concerned

(Bailey) No, he is nosy...there’s a difference. Can we just not talk about it please, I’d like to mope in silence

(Miley) *stands up* Alright babe, Joe and I will leave you to it and we will pass the word to the rest of the family that you wanna be left alone.

*Miley and Joe walk out shutting the door behind them*

B's Inner Monologue

Finally… alone. I don’t want to entertain people, I don't want to talk to people about my problems and I most definitely don't want to sit and hold hands while someone placates me and tells me that I'm not selfish…

*Door opens and B rolls her eyes*

(Bailey) Of course they'd send you in as the clean-up crew.

(Nick) Well when Joe came into the living room announcing that you wanted to be left alone I knew something was up.

*Nick walks over and lays down beside B who immediately tucks her head into his shoulder before letting the tears that she had been holding fall freely*

(Nick) *looks down at B surprised and concerned* Hey…what’s wrong?

(Bailey) *sits up and looks Nick in the eyes, tears streaming down her face* I love you, I want you to know that.

(Nick) *sits up and furrows a brow* I love you too…what’s wrong

(Bailey) I may be an ungrateful, selfish, whiney, little bitch but you need to know that you are more important to me than me…

(Nick) huh?

 (Bailey) I just mean…*wipes face with back of her hand* I…*sigh* you being happy is more important to me than me being happy. I may not show it as often as I should but I really do love you guys and I am thankful that I have such a wonderful family.

*Nick wraps his arms around B and pulls her into a tight hug*

(Nick) B…where did you get the idea that you were an ungrateful selfish whiney little bitch?
