Chapter Four
He was looking at me in the eyes, “Yeah?” he replied. How can he do this to me? He’s such a jerk! How can he be so casual?!
My body started to rise, swaying a bit as I was under the influence of alcohol, “What do you mean just yeah?!” I screamed in his ear. Adam stood up behind me, his arm snaked around my waist, which I was grateful for. I wouldn’t be able to stay on my feet for too long otherwise.
“You said my name? What else do you want me to say?” his face was covered in confusion. How can he do this to me? The heartbreak he caused me, made me so ill. The pregnancy was the only thing that kept me alive, and it barely just did that.
“How about fuck off? You’re good at that” Adam offered. I turned around to see him but his eyes were fixed on Justin’s.
“You can’t be tiny Adam?” Justin sneered at him.
“And you can’t be the one that left his pregnant girlfriend?” Adam retorted. I gave Adam a grateful look. I couldn’t even look at Justin without feeling sick.
“Who’s this Adam?” Dean spoke up. He stood up and walked to beside Adam and myself.
“Dean, just sit down, its Mia’s dad. We can’t get involved, however much I hate the twat” Poppy said in a hushed tone. Dean looked at him and scowled. He already hated him and he hadn’t met him before. Dean did as she said though and reluctantly sat down.
“Mia” he snorted. I looked back at him automatically, “You actually went through with it then?” he started to laugh. “And you’re with weedy Adam? This just gets better and better” he started to laugh louder. What happened to the sweet boy I knew? He was always so kind and considerate. He even left me on good terms; over the years, I had just thought about how much of a push over I was back then, well I ain’t anymore! Sorry to disappoint!
“Don’t you even dare call her?! She is the most beautiful little girl ever! Thank god she never even gained a trait or look from your family!” I screamed in his face. Calling me was one thing but to sneer at Mia, was another?! It was true that Mia hadn’t taken a single trait from her dad. She looked nothing like him; she was like a mini me. I was going to add that I and Adam weren’t together either but I could use that to my advantage. I smirked at the idea.
“The little rat bag that ruined my life! Ha! Don’t make me laugh!” he said in a cold tone. He started to sway slightly; he must have had a lot to drink. Happy days…not!
“How do you mean, ruined your life? You haven’t even seen her!” is this guy brain-dead?
“I couldn’t concentrate for years because of what you told me and so my school work started to slip and voila! I never even made college my grades were that bad! My mum and dad were so disappointed in me…and it’s all because of you and that little shit!” he rose his voice at the last part. God this guy really is deluded!
“Think what you like Justin, but it takes two people to tango” I replied, tired of the conversation.
“Yeah and it takes one RIGHT decision. You took the wrong one, unfortunately!” Justin yelled. His beer -breath, clogging up my throat.
“No! Mia is the best thing that happened to me and Adam and Poppy! Hell! Even Dean loves her!” I know it’s cliché but it’s true. They have all told me on numerous occasions.
