Chapter Ten
A knock sounded at the door at half past eight, so I got up from watching Gossip Girl and answered it. Adam was stood there with a bunch of flowers in his hand and a silly grin in his face.
“These are for you” he told me and handed me the pink and yellow roses. They smelled beautiful and I couldn’t help but smile. He had never done this before, but to be honest, he never really had a reason to before.
“Thank you” I whispered as I was close to tears. I hadn’t been given a bunch of flowers in my whole life and had always thought it was tacky, but now, I think the gesture is sweet and I love the feeling. “I’ll go put them in a vase, go make yourself at home”
“I’m practically at home” he joked making me giggle quietly. I pulled a vase out from under sink and filled it up with water. I placed the flowers in them and positioned it on the table, in the centre. They looked gorgeous and I had to bit the inside of my mouth to stop the tears from flowing. I’d done enough of that for the past few weeks as it is.
I calmed myself down and walked back into the living room, “Gossip Girl? Really?” he asked laughing.
Ahh, the real Adam is back! Yes! “What’s wrong with it?” I wondered shocked. I loved Gossip Girl. I follow it religiously.
“Do you want me to answer that?” he questioned looking me over discreetly. I felt a little self-conscious because I was only in sweats, wait, why did I feel that way? It’s only Adam; I’ve never felt like this before with him.
But then again, before recent times, I only thought of him as a brother.
I sat down beside him and turned the volume up to make my point. He groaned quietly making me chuckle. I don’t get why boys are so against these shows, they’re great!
“Now shush” I scolded as I snuggled into his chest like always.
“Eventually!” he exclaimed.
I whipped around to look at him, “What do you mean? It was a well good episode!”
He gave me a blank look, “Are you kidding me?”
“What? No! I love this show, it’s one of my favourites” I told him honestly.
He arranged his expression, “And your now going to tell me that you like 90210 and One Tree Hill as well are you?” he asked laughing.
“No, I hate those two” I informed him. He did a quick sweep of his forehead with the back of his hand and blew out a ‘phew’.
I shook my head at him playfully, “Do you want to get a takeaway?” he asked, getting up off the sofa and going to the radiator where our takeaway menus were stacked up.
I nodded my head, “Yeah, but keep it to a pizza or something that doesn’t smell so much, like curry or Chinese because Mia might wake up, she has a nose that could smell Chicken Curry from 10 miles away” I joked making us both laugh.
“I was only going to get a Donner Meat Pizza anyway” he told me, making me turn my nose up.
“That’s disgusting, why can’t you get a normal topping pizza?” I complained, it’s like getting Lamb and Mint flavour crisps, it’s not normal!
“Because I’m not normal” he stated, making me shake my head furiously in agreement. “Hey, I was only joking” he scolded.
I stopped immediately, “I thought you was being serious”
