Hey :)
I’m sorry for the long wait!
The uploads on this story are going to be slow as I have entered some sort of writer’s block on this story at the moment :(
Anyway! Enjoy! :D
Chapter Eleven
We were sat in the hospital waiting room, I, Adam and Mia. Mia was getting her cast off her leg today and I could honestly say that we were all really excited.
She had taken the news of not being able to see properly quite well. She doesn’t seem to be fazed by it and Liam and a few other friends from school have been round to say hello and play. Overall I was happy with how well she has adjusted to it, just like the doctor and nurses when we came for our weekly check-up.
A nurse in a light blue uniform wandered into the room with a clipboard in her hand, “Please can Mia Porter follow me,” she asked as her eyes searched the room.
I rose and Adam picked up Mia so that she doesn’t have to walk, even if she had been walking fine since the cast on her arm came off a few weeks back. The nurse smiled at us and she directed us down the familiar hospital corridors.
“Mummy, I can’t wait for my red cast to come off,” Mia chirped, wriggling in Adam’s arms making me smile warmly.
Since Adam and I had gotten together fully, we have been together practically the whole time. Obviously he has been going to college, but he has been so kind by bringing my work back that I have been missing. Rachel wasn’t happy that I was missing history but my A-Level exams weren’t until July so I have a bit of time left yet, besides I am ahead of everyone else. I excel in history seeing as it’s my favourite subject, has been since I was little.
Justin never did turn up the next day sober, or drunk, the next day, much to my happiness. I didn’t want Mia being upset after everything she has been through now just because of her waste of space father. It’s just not happening.

About an hour later, we all emerged with Mia cast-less. Hopefully now she will start to adjust to life with one eye properly, without any setbacks. Adam pulled me in with his right arm as he had Mia in his left. I snuggled up to him as we walked down the corridors to Adam’s car happily. Like a proper close knit family. It feels like nothing is wrong or has ever been wrong and that we were always this happy.
Mia climbed onto her car seat and I buckled her in before climbing in the front. I never had the chance to learn to drive myself. Poppy tried but failed and Adam passed with flying colours. Lucky bastard.
We drove to McDonald’s Drive Thru to treat Mia for being brave, she ordered a chicken nugget happy meal and was more excited to see the Ice Age toy that eat the food. Like mother, like daughter, I ordered a chicken nugget medium meal with a coke, no ice and Adam ordered the whole place, a big mac, chicken legend, large chips and large Fanta. I offered to pay seeing as Adam brought us here in place of my mother who had to work.
We ate in the car park before setting off home. It was easier if Mia didn’t have to get up and down constantly. The doctor asked us to do a little bit of walking every day for the next week and next Monday should be okay to go back to school, which Mia squealed at when the doctor told us all.
I climbed out of the car and carried Mia in. She was wriggling furiously in my arms, wanting to go and play with her Barbie’s. I stepped through the door hurriedly, I placed down Mia, and “surprise!” came shouts from the living room. I jumped up startled and Mia screamed in excitement as she saw the huge crowd stood in our living room, my mum and Poppy leading them.
I turned round to see Adam smirking, “did you know anything about this?” I asked smiling and raising an eyebrow at him.
“It was his idea,” my mum chipped in, joining us. I smiled brightly at Adam and flung myself at him, kissing him.
“Eww!” Mia and Liam said at the same time, making me giggle against his lips.
I swivelled round whilst Adam kept his hands wrapped round me. “Adam, you’ve got girl cooties now!” Liam stated, twisting his face in disgust. Mia faced him, looking at him with her right eye before placing a kiss on his lips.
“So do you now,” she laughed as she ran away from him.
Liam wiped his mouth with the back of his hand, “Eurgh!” he screamed before chasing Mia out of the living room.
I faced Adam and placed a light kiss on his lips, “Thanks for everything,” I said solemnly.
He smiled and kissed me again, “no problem.”
I stepped out of Adam’s embrace and walked over to Poppy and my mum. I noticed half my college mates there as well, which made me smile more. The fact that they had all turned up for Mia made tears form in my eyes.
“What’s wrong Georgie?” Poppy asked, bending down so that she could see into my eyes.
I shook my head, “I’m just so happy that everyone had turned up for my daughter, there happy tears,” I smiled wiping them away, feeling stupid.
She directed me to the kitchen, where I saw even more people, including Adam’s parents and Poppy’s family.
During the party, I circled the whole crowd to say thank you for coming and danced a little with Mia and Adam and my mum and basically everyone else.
The party was amazing and it lifted Mia and mine spirits.
I know it’s short, but it’s something right? (:
