Grant's POV.

I felt my heart stop as her body fell, using my speed I barely caught her.

"Angelica, baby tell me what's wrong" I begged, but she was unresponsive but she was in a foetal position shaking with pain.

Luke! Get the pack doctor to the clearing now!

I stared at her again, she had her eyes closed, a face full of pain, her body quaked with force and then she began to whimper. My wolf was frantic I felt him pace back and forth in my mind wondering what was wrong with his mate.

The pack doctor arrived with Luke and Val close behind.

Val immediately fell to Angelica's side "Angelica are you okay? What's happening?"

The pack doctor had ushered us to the side as he checked her over, concern had washed over his face as he continued to look her over.

I stood by the side lines next to Luke "I've mind linked everyone to stay in the pack house so they wouldn't have to see their luna in pain."

I just nodded grateful for him stepping up as beta, I only focused on my mate who grabbed onto her hair screaming.

I growled at the doctor, he hadn't given me any information about Angelica he just kept checking her temperature.

"Do something damn it!" I yelled, she was in pain and I couldn't do anything even my touch should have calmed it but it wasn't working. I couldn't feel any of the pain she was feeling either which was strange since the mate bond had always connected mates feelings whether it was happiness or pain.

"What's happening to her!" I commanded, Luke held me back as I was so close to ripping him apart for not being able to help. I blamed my wolf, the human part of me knew it wouldn't do any good hurting him but damn it he had surfaced.

The doctor's eyes had flown up to mine, they quivered in fear and I heard him gulp before speaking. "Alpha she's been showing symptoms of increased temperature, extreme pain, her bones seem to be moving and her eyes are a different colour. The only reason I can think of is that she is-"

"Shifting" Val gasped.

I froze trying to analyse the situation. It couldn't be, the Moon Goddess had said she was going to finally shift on her 18th birthday which was a month away.

"It can't be, she's- it's- it's not the right time" I shook.

We were all dumbfounded by the situation, all eyes were on Angelica. She was there on her hands and knees shaking, her breathing shallow, she did truly show the symptoms of the shifting process.

Her eyes finally opened and her deep purple orbs stared into my eyes.

They had focused on me and me only, it was as if nothing was around us anymore but I knew everyone and everything was still there.

She had opened her mouth to say something but as soon as she did it was if a button had clicked.

Her canines had begun elongating and her bones begun cracking into place. The sound was dreadful as I knew it wasn't going to be a painless process as I had been through it as well.

But her face didn't show pain anymore, in fact she remained impassive even with the massive changes that happened.

Hair begun sprouting in a beautiful silver colour then white, her human skin couldn't be seen anymore and her face began to take shape into a wolves. Her ears perked up nice and pointed.

All while her eyes stayed on me.

Her clothes had ripped into shreds but she stood there tall and confidence had oozed around her spreading through the air around us, clear dominance.

She was absolutely beautiful, her coat was white with silver tips, the deep purple eyes stood out and her ears were perked up with full attention.

I stood there dumbfounded.

Go to her! My wolf shouted, he jumped around in my head with excitement.

I hesitantly took a step forward and as I did she growled her hairs stood and the silver tips had turned gold in warning. She was an absolute sight, never had I seen such warning.

I immediately crouched down with my hands in a surrendered position to show that I was no threat to her.

Her hairs dropped and she stopped growling, almost looking playful as she had most likely realised I was her mate.

She stalked forward and I shifted into my wolf. Not intentionally but my wolf had seemed to take control all of a sudden.

I heard footsteps walk behind us and looked behind me to see the pack doctor, Val and Luke walk back.

Val and Luke gave us a small salute and I nodded thanking them for giving us some privacy.

As I turned back Angelica's face was merely a few inches away from mine. Her wolf inspected me and a playful look flashed in her eyes, I was taller and bigger than her wolf but no doubt she had incredible power.

She wolfishly grinned at me and I mirrored her smile,

Without warning she licked me in the face before she darted towards the woods.

For a few seconds I was stunned (what's new about that) before lunging into the woods myself.

If my mate wants a chase, a chase is what she'll get.
