11. Traveling

Time skip 3 days so to Friday

Y/N's POV
I woke up early for the last time this week. Joey was already in the shower. I got up made some (favourite warm beverage) and got ready. After I got dressed I sat on the couch. I had to ask Joey if we wanted to go to my hometown with me for thanksgiving. (AN: Since in this story you're Canadian) Joey got out of the shower, got ready and walked downstairs.
Joey: "Good Morning hun, you ready to go?"
Y/N: "Yup"
Me and Joey walked to his car and got in. I decided to ask him now.
Y/N: "Hey Joey? I have a question to ask you."
Joey: "And what is that question?"
Y/N: "Do you want to go with me back to Canada for thanksgiving to meet my family?"
Joey: "For how long?"
Y/N: "Only a few days"
Joey: "When are we leaving?"
Y/N: "Tomorrow"
Joey: "Alright. One more question?"
Y/N: "Yes Joey"
Joey: "What day are we staying until?"
Y/N: "Probably Wednesday"
Joey: "Ok baby"
I was really excited but nervous for Joey to meet my parents. I think my parents will like him. Joey's a kindhearted guy anyways who wouldn't like him. As I was thinking about all of the possibilities of what my parents would think about him, we were already at the office. It was like any normal day at the office we would work, fool around and work again. Just your normal day in HI5 studios. We made sure to tell Matthias that we will be gone for a few days but we will be back on Wednesday. The day actually went pretty quick. As soon as I knew it, it was time to head home. Me and Joey gathered our things then went home. When me and Joey got home I made dinner and then we went out to go get some TVs for our room and our living room. We ended up getting smart TVs because we knew we were most likely watch Netflix and Youtube. The only time that me and him wouldn't be watching Netflix and YouTube would be if he was watching his basketball games and I would be watching my hockey games. (Go Habs Go) We got the smart TVs and drove home. We decided we would set them up when we get home from Canada. When we were done moving in the TV's we decided to pack then we should go to bed because our flight was 6:00 am.

The Next Day

Joey's POV
I woke up to an alarm. I looked out the window and noticed it was still dark out so I tried to go back to sleep but Y/N shook me awake.
Y/N: "Come on Joey it's time to get up hun"
Joey: "5 more minutes"
Y/N: "Ok I'll pick out your outfit"
Joey: *mumbles*
I fell back asleep for more than 5 minutes I got woken up by Y/N's phone I guess she set a timer for 10 minutes. When I shut off the alarm I noticed Y/N had folded outfit neatly at the end of the bed and she made me a cup of hot chocolate. I smiled, I was just thinking about how awesome she is when Y/N walked in.
Y/N: "Morning sleepy head"
Joey: "Good morning beautiful. Are you ready to go see your parents?"
Y/N: "Yes, I'm so excited to go home and see my parents and see my hometown. Oh, did you pack a few pairs of jeans and sweaters?"
Joey: "Yeah. Why?"
Y/N: "Well you know Canada. It might be a bit chilly"
I chuckled. 
Joey: "Will I see snow?"
Y/N giggled at me.
Y/N: "No it's too early, but you never know in Canada" 
I was a little excited to go too. I get to see what her family is like and go to Canada. I'm super tired though and I don't feel like getting dressed but I have to. After I got dressed I checked the time it was only 5:00 but I guess we should be at the airport by 5:30. I walked out of our room and noticed both mine and Y/N's suitcases were at the front door, she must've moved them herself. I walked into the kitchen and Y/N was making a coffee for herself. I wrapped my arms around her waist and rested my head on her shoulder. She moved her head and kissed my cheek and after I kissed her cheek, I kept my head on her shoulder and closed my eyes. 
Y/N: "Are you tired hun?" 
I mumbled in response. She kissed my temple and ruffled my hair. 
Y/N: "You'll have to sleep during our flight" 
Joey: "Yeah I guess" 
We stood there in silence for a few minutes. Then Y/N spoke up. 
Y/N: "So are we ready Joe Fish?"
Joey: "Yeah and where'd that come from?"
Y/N: "That was your childhood nickname and I'm going to bring it back"
Joey: "Alright but now I have to think of a nickname for you"
Y/N: "Well we've got to go now, hun"
Joey: "Ok ok I'll think about it on the plane"

Y/N's POV
We called a cab and drove to the airport. We got our tickets then sat down and waited until they called our flight. When they called our flight me and Joey both stood up and walked towards the entrance to the plane. We both took our seats which were luckily, beside each other. I got the window seat and Joey sat beside me. An older lady sat beside Joey. I was nervous about taking off and Joey could tell. Joey grabbed my hand and we intertwined our fingers, Joey wasn't nervous but I was. Joey was trying to reassure me. It worked. As soon as I knew it we were off the ground. About half an hour in I felt sleepy and rested my head on Joey's shoulder. Joey then wrapped his arm around my shoulder and I rested my head on his chest. I fell asleep soon after that.

Joey's POV
I was looking at Y/N sleeping on me and started to play with her hair. I played with her hair for a little bit and got interrupted by the old lady sitting beside me.
Old Lady: "Is that your girlfriend?"
Joey: "Yeah"
Old Lady: "You guys are very cute"
Joey: "Thank you"
I was wearing my hat with the prayer hands on it (AN: idk what to call it) and the old Lady asked me about it.
Old Lady: "Do you pray?"
Joey: "Yeah a lot actually. I pray about just random things. Usually about how thankful I am for all of the things I have"
Old Lady: "It's good to see that some people are still praying and putting faith in Jesus"
Joey: "Yeah I'm very passionate about that stuff"
Old Lady: "That's good...... oh I realized I didn't introduce myself, I'm Betty"
Joey: "Nice to meet you Betty I'm Joey"
Betty: "And what's your girlfriend's name?"
Joey: "Her names Y/N"
Betty: "What a nice name"
Joey: "Yeah beautiful isn't it?"
Betty: "Yes it is...What are you guys doing going to Canada?"
Joey: "I'm going with her for thanksgiving to meet her parents"
Betty: "Oh how nice"
Joey: "Yeah I'm excited but nervous"
Betty: "Well if I were you I wouldn't worry you seem like a nice young man. I'm sure they'll love you"
Joey: "Thank you but if you'll excuse me I would like to catch some rest"
Betty: "Oh yeah yeah I'm sorry"
Joey: "Don't worry about it"
And with that, I fell asleep. Then next time I woke up was when the flight attendant came on the intercom and said we will be landing in 5 minutes. I gently woke up Y/N. She woke up and rubbed her eyes
Y/N: "What time is it?"
Joey: "It's about 3:00 pm because of the time change"
Y/N: "Are we about to land soon?"
Joey: "Yeah in about 5 minutes"
Y/N then sat up straight and laid her head on my shoulder.
Joey: "You sleepy baby?"
Y/N: "Yeah. Did you get any sleep?"
Joey: "Yeah I fell asleep like 10-15 minutes after you did"
Y/N: "Oh ok, it's good you got some sleep"
Joey: "Yeah"

Y/N's POV
We were about to land in Montreal. I was excited that I get to see my family and I'm glad Joey came with me it made the trip a lot easier. The flight attendant then came on the intercom and said we will be landing in a minute. After the plane landed we got out and went to find our luggage. While we were waiting for our luggage Joey wrapped his arm around my shoulder, pulled me towards him and kissed the top of my head. We grabbed our luggage off of the conveyor. As we are about to walk away an old Lady said:
Old Lady: "Have fun you two"
Joey: "Thank you"
And we walked away.
Y/N: "Who was that?"
Joey: "That was the lady that sat beside us on the plane. While you were sleeping we had a little conversation"
Y/N: "Oh I see"
We both walked outside of the airport and called a cab. As we were waiting for the cab Joey asked me:
Joey: "Do you parents know that we're coming?"
Y/N: "No it's a surprise. My mom asked if I could come home for thanksgiving but I told her I was busy"
Joey: "Oh I see. What are your parents' names?"
Y/N: "My dad's name is D/N (Dad's name) and my mom's name is M/N (Moms name)"
Joey: "Oh ok"
Y/N: "How are you feeling?"
Joey: "Excited and nervous"
Y/N: "Don't be nervous Joey, my parents will love you"
Joey: "How do you know?"
Y/N: "Because Joey, you are so caring, loving and kind. The list goes on. So don't be worried ok?"
Joey: "Alright"
I kissed Joey on the cheek. By that time the cab came. We loaded our stuff into the trunk and we were on our way to see my parents.
