Kalos Adventure

Chapter 1: Uncle Sycamore

After leaving Unova, feeling as though I had much more to do there, I decided to head straight for Kalos. I thought it was finally time to meet up with my uncle and figure out what the secrets behind Mega Evolution was. 

"Are you okay?" Umbreon asked as we stood on the side of the boat staring out at the open sea. 

"I think so, just a little confused about everything that happened in Unova. I mean the idea of Mega Evolution still confuses me." I muttered as I rested my head in my hands. 

"Are you still confused about Korrina?" I shook my head. 

"No, I understand that we can never be the way we were before I changed. I have to be able to move on and so does she." The sun was starting to set as I looked back at the now fading Unova region behind us. "One day we'll come back here and we'll travel all over. I really want to challenge the other Gym Leaders, maybe even challenge Alder to a battle for Champion, but for now I think we need a break." I turned away from the railing and walked towards the door leading below deck.

"Going to bed?" I looked back at Umbreon once. 

"Yeah...it's been a long day." We went below deck. I could hardly sleep that night, thinking about what the Kalos region had in store for us. I thought about Sylveon, who was now curled up on the bed with Umbreon. 

Will she be happy to finally be going to her home? Where there are more of her?

I closed my eyes and was able to finally doze off for a few hours. I woke up to the loud horn of the boat. We must be getting close to land. Umbreon and Sylveon looked at me as they jumped up at the load noise. 

"It's alright, it's just the horn." We all got up and I quickly got ready for the day. My uncle was suppose to meet us at the dock, so hopefully he would be happy to see Sylveon.

"Kat welcome!" My uncle said as we walked off the boat. He had his arms outstretched and a huge grin on his face. I smiled lightly. 

'Professor Sycamore."

"Please call me Uncle Sycamore." I giggled at the name. 

"Right Uncle Sycamore." He signaled for us to follow him to a car nearby. "Uncle?" He turned back and that's when I moved to the side revealing Sylveon.

'Ah I see, so Eevee evolved. How do you like Sylveon?" He asked happily. 

"I love her." He nodded once. 

"It's understandable. For some reason this type of Eevee evolves when it one knows a Fairy Type move and two when it is extremely loved by its trainer. The bond you two share can never be broken and for some odd reason that bond has synced your minds together so Sylveon may know your thoughts in battle before you do." 

"I think that's what I came up with as well." I explained and looked at Sylveon happily. She jumped around me excited to be somewhere new. 

"I can see she's quite happy to be with you." I chuckled. 

"I think she's just happy to be off the boat." We went to his car and a driver took us to some place called Lumious City. 

"So there are Sinnoh and Kanto pokemon here as well?" I asked him. 

"Yup. Speaking of which, what pokemon from the Kanto starters would you have chosen if you had the choice?" I thought about it for a few seconds. 

"Probably a Charmander." He smiled brightly. 

"Then when we get to my lab I'll give you a Charmander." I looked at him shocked.

"Really?" He nodded once. 

"You see a big part of my research is trying to figure out the concept of Mega Evolution." I froze. 

"Mega Evolution?" He nodded. 

"Did you know that there are several pokemon that can Mega Evolve?" I nodded and looked at Umbreon. 

"Umbreon has a Mega Stone." He looked at me shocked. 

"I have never heard of an Umbreon Mega Evolving, can you show me when we get to the lab?" I nodded and for the rest of the drive we said nothing, which was fine, it was a calming silence.

At the lab I stepped into my Uncle's office. 

"Alright, please show me Umbreon's Mega Evolution." I pulled out Umbreon's Mega Stone. 

"Umbreon hear my call and strengthen the bond between us. Mega Evolve!" She changed forms and looked at my uncle who was staring at her from all angles in pure fascination.

"Incredible." I allowed Umbreon to change back to normal. 

"I didn't think it was possible either, but it's incredible to see her new form." 

"I agree completely. As promised here." He handed me a pokeball and then a Mega Stone. 

"Charizard has a Mega Evolution as well?" I asked confused. 

"Indeed, all the Kanto starters have Mega Evolutions." I smiled brightly as I threw out Charmander. He was so cute. 

"I love him, thank you so much Uncle Sycamore." He smiled brightly. 

"Of course. So what are your plans for Kalos?" I thought about it for a minute. 

"Well I would like to just take a break and enjoy a normal adventure. So if you don't mind I would love to explore the out most stretches of Kalos. He smiled brightly once more. 

"I like that answer, here's a pokedex and please choose one of the starters for Kalos." I looked at the three pokemon. 

"What are their names?" 

"Fennekin, Froakie, and Chespin." I nodded once looking between the three pokemon. 

"I think I'd like to take Froakie." He jumped into my arms happily. I giggled happily. "I guess I made the right choice." My uncle handed me Froakie's pokeball and then two other pokeballs. 

"I know you'll have a wonderful journey." My uncle said once more as we headed out of the lab and into Lumoise City.

"Well I guess it's time for us to begin our Kalos adventure." I said to Umbreon as I headed towards one of the exits of the city.
