Chapter 7: Xerneas

I had changed into an Absol the second we stepped foot outside the lab. I looked around cautiously. I knew Alain and Lysandre were probably watching me from somewhere waiting for me to slip up.

"Kat?" Umbreon said to me not through Telepathy. I looked at her lightly. "I want to make sure you can trust humans again after all of this is over? You've been an Absol for a long time and so you don't really remember what it's like to be human and understand human emotions. Ash and the others are trying to help, please don't shut them out." I sighed and nodded once as I heard the crack of thunder in the distance.

"It's going to rain." Serena complained. I took off into the middle of town with everyone following close behind. I stopped quickly as I heard the flap of familiar wings. I jumped into the air and sent a Hyper Beam flying at Charizard.

Surprised by the sudden attack it just barely was able to dodge it though it did hit a part of it's wing.

"You really have gotten more keen on the senses, Katherine." Alain said from Charizard's back.

"I should have gotten rid of you when I had the chance that day. You think Lysandre is going to give you Mary back?!" I growled and jumped into the air, towards him. My body started to glow,which confused me, because I knew that Mega Evolution was impossible without a keystone and a Mega Stone. When the glowing stopped I was Mega Absol.

"But how?" Alain said confused by the change in my form. I didn't have time to be confused myself. I used Mega Horn on Charizard quickly, it went crashing to the ground with Alain on it's back still.

"Look Alain I will help you get Mary, but if you continue to help Lysandre he will destroy everything. Your Charizard will no longer exist, why do you think he wants me?! I will be the only Pokemon that is left on earth!" I yelled and he froze along with everyone else.

"What?!" Everyone said shocked.

"Xerneas and I spoke of what we thought was going to happen if Lysandre was able to get his hands on both of the legends of this region, we came across the complete and utter destruction of all Pokemon on earth. There's a story about something called the Ultimate Machine, it was created by a man who had befriended a certain Pokemon. His friend had been put into a war between two different kingdoms. The Pokemon came back in a coffin, in a rage he built the machine to revive his friend, but even after reviving his beloved friend he couldn't stop hating the people who had caused the death of it. He blasted the machine into the middle of the war, which killed all the Pokemon and people that were on that battlefield." I explained as Xerneas told me. I shivered as everyone looked between one another.

Charizard looked at me lightly.

"Charizard, you care about Alain, just as I care about Umbreon. Please listen to me and believe what I have to say. If you and Alain don't stop this then you will never be together again." I said lightly.

"Katherine..." Alain said lightly and I looked at him gently.

"Please Alain..."

"I believe you. Please just help me get Mary back." I nodded sharply.

"I promise you I will not leave there without her." We all rushed to Geosenge Town, it was surrounded by the rocks that had the shapes of Pokemon. I knew now what these rocks were from, that war from so long ago.

I knew exactly where to go when we got into the town. I started heading towards their base when I heard laughter from nearby. I turned sharply to see Lysandre standing there.

"Katherine, I see you have managed to allured from Alain and now even he is following your foolish ideals." I glared at him and changed into my human form.

"Lysandre, your idea of a "beautiful" world is nothing but a joke. You will lose and I will be here to make sure that happens. But there's something I need to do before you will get what you deserve." I changed into a Haunter and disappeared underground. I saw there was a room that had a weird cocoon in it, but when I looked closer at it I saw that it was Xerneas.

I disappeared into the room and changed into a human form once again as I landed on the platform in the middle of the machine she was in.

"Xerneas, it's Kat. Are you alright?" I asked her as I touched the cocoon.

Kat?

"Yes, I'm here to save you."

You must break the machine in order to save me.

How would I be able to break this machine?

"What are you doing here?" Someone asked in a timid voice. I turned and saw a girl with dark pink hair and blue eyes, she looked scared.

"Are you Mary by any chance?" I asked.

"Yes..."

"Thank goodness, Alain has been worried sick about you. Do you know how to destroy this machine by any chance?" She shook her head no.

"I'm sorry. Lysandre locked me in here after bringing that Pokemon in here. He said I would be destroyed along with the world if I tried to leave."

"I see." I looked around and that's when I remembered what my uncle had said. "I am able to use Mega Evolution without a key stone, which means...maybe my mega evolution powers can help me destroy this machine if I can overpower it." I quickly changed into a Manectric and mega evolved. I started using Thunder on the power source of the machine, it took maybe two minutes but I heard an explosion as the door to the room opened revealing Lysandre, Ash, Alain, Serena, Bonnie and Clemont.

"What have you done?!" Lysandre yelled. I changed back to normal.

"I have stopped your machine from firing and draining any more of Xerneas' power. I heard the cracking of the cocoon, I turned back and saw Xerneas burst free from it. She looked down at me and smiled.

"Thank you Kat."

"You're welcome, Xerneas." She started glowing and then touched my head with one of her paws. I felt a warmth I had never felt before and when she stopped glowing I noticed that I no longer had any bruises on my arms.

"Why you little-!" Lysandre said.

"You've lost, Lysandre." I saw Mary moving along the wall behind Lysandre towards Alain. He seemed to notice my attention waver from him, because he turned around and grabbed Mary tightly.

"I haven't lost if I still have the girl then I have Alain under my control." He started laughing.

"Umbreon." I stated and she looked at me. "Glaceon. Jolteon. Sylveon. Leafeon." They all appeared after being called. "Go beyond evolution and Mega Evolve!" I called out and they all began to glow brightly.

"Impossible!" Lysandre yelled.
