Chapter 11: Tower of Mastery

Latias appeared from the pokeball, shocking some of the people around when Latias flew quickly into the sky.

"Listen to my heart Latias and go beyond evolution, Mega Evolve!" I called out and I saw the glow from the sky. When she reappeared she had a purple coat instead of a red one.

"So Latias has a mega evolution as well." I heard someone say and turned my head seeing an older man standing there. I immediately recognized him.

"Grandpa!" Korrina yelled.

"I'm just here to watch."

"Lucario, let's show her everything we've got. Mega Evolve!" Lucario glowed and in seconds Mega Lucario stood before us.

"Well let's get this battle started. Latias use Sky Attack!" Latias flew into the sky quickly.

"Lucario Sword Dance!" Blue swords appeared around Lucario.

"Now!" I yelled as Latias started flying down towards Lucario.

"Now block it with Bone Rush!" I looked at Lucario as a Bone Rush appeared in it's hands. Latias was held back that move. I clenched my teeth together.

"Thunderbolt!" I called out quickly and in an instant Lucario was shocked.

"Lucario!" Korrina called out. I saw that after the attack Lucario was paralyzed.

"Perfect, let's finish this Latias with Dragon Breath!" A beautiful ray of rainbow light poured from Latias' mouth and blasted Lucario back behind Korrine, who simply looked at us in shock as Lucario past her face with a strong breeze of air.

"Lucario is unable to battle and the winner of the match is Latias and Kat." Latias changed back to normal and I hugged her happily.

"Thanks so much, Latias you were amazing." I returned her to her pokeball. Korrina came over to me in awe.

"You really have grown, you even surpassed Mega Lucario and I." She handed me the badge for her gym. "As commendation for your winning against me I gift you with the Rumble Badge. Also there is something I wish for you receive at the Tower of Mastery after a trip to the Pokemon Center."

After I finished up at the Pokemon Center, I headed to the Tower of Mastery at Korrina's request.

"Glad you made it." I looked up towards the top of the tower when I got inside. Korrina was standing at the very top ledge. "Come on up and we can get started." I rushed up the stairs with Umbreon right by my side. Something about what Korrina wanted to give me excited everything inside of me. Mega Evolution was something that had just been discovered so I can only imagine what this gift of hers is. When I reached the top she smiled at me.

"So what is all of this about?" I asked as we went outside on to the balcony.

"You remember this place don't you?"

"Of course I do. It's where you and I started everything we worked so hard for." I said and stared out at the sky. "Now I know why I love looking out at the sky as the sun sets." I muttered.

"Yeah me too. But what I wanted to give you as a gift is this." She placed a pokeball in my hand.

"What is this?"

"A Rilou, the pre-evolution of Lucario." I looked at her surprised.

"Why?"

"To thank you for showing me something I never would have found with anyone else as my original partner. You're always going to be my first partner, Kat. No matter what you look like you will forever be my friend and partner. Please take care of yourself as we split off into our separate ways." I smiled at her and then looked back out at the setting sun before us.

"Thank you for everything, Korrina."
