It took us maybe three days to get to Shalour City, home to the Tower of Mastery and the Mega Evolution Successor. I walked into the Pokemon Center to get my Pokemon all healed when I noticed a familiar face.
"Korrina!" She turned and smiled brightly at me.
"Kat, it's good to see you again. After everything that happened with Team Flare I never got a chance to apologize for being so hard on you that day." I shook my head.
"Don't worry about it, if it wasn't for you I wouldn't be here right now, so thank you." She smiled and we waited together for my Pokemon to get healed.
"So how have you been?" We both said at the same time, then started laughing at our silliness.
"I've been well and you?" She answered first.
"Pretty well since everything that happened. How is Lucario training going?" She smirked.
"Why don't we have a battle and you can find out?" I shook my head sighing.
"I can't unfortunately, I came here to one challenge the gym leader of the Shalour Gym and then visit the Tower of Mastery to learn more about Mega Evolution." I explained sadly.
"Well then there's no need to worry, because I just so happen to be the Shalour Gym Leader and the Tower of Mastery Successor." I stared at her shocked.
"So you managed to beat your grandfather finally?" She chuckled.
"That's right."
"I'm proud and happy for you." She smiled as I heard the ding telling me my Pokemon were all healed. Umbreon, Jolteon, Leafeon and Sylveon came rushing towards me. I smiled brightly at them as they tackled me out of my chair. "It's good to see you all feeling better."
"It's good to see you again Umbreon." Korrina said petting Umbreon's head.
"It's good to see you too, Korrina." She replied.
"Now that we've caught up how about we have our Gym battle?" Korrina said getting up determined.
"Right!" I got up just as determined. "But I'm going to win."
"We'll see about that."

We had decided it would be more fun to have our gym battle in the middle of path leading to the Tower of Mastery, so the people of the town could see.
"Alright! We'll use three Pokemon each." Korrina said to me. I nodded, smirking.
"Alright Sylveon let's go!"
"Mienfoo!"
"A Mienfoo?" I pulled out my pokedex.
"Mienfoo, the Marital Arts Pokemon. It takes pride in the speed at which it can use moves. What it loses in power it makes up for in quantity."
"Sylveon use Fairy Wind!"
"Dodge, then use Power-up Punch!" Korrina called out and Mienfoo really was fast.
"Sylveon dodge and use Moonblast!" Sylveon jumped into the air and blasted down the attack, but again Mienfoo proved to be faster and moved out of the way with ease.
I clenched my fists at my side as I tried to come up with a strategy to get through the speed this Pokemon possessed.
"That's it! Sylveon use Ice Beam on the battlefield!" I called out. She blasted it down on the ground and Mienfoo slipped and fell.
"What?!" Korrina called out.
"Viola taught me how to use that move. Sylveon use Fairy Wind, then follow that up with Moonblast!" The Fairy Wind blew Mienfoo up into the air and then the Moonblast blasted it into the ground.
"Mienfoo is unable to battle, Sylveon is the winner."
"Not bad, Kat. Let's see if you can handle this one, Machoke let's win this together!" I smirked.
"Sylveon return." She jumped to my side and I pulled out another pokeball. "Frogadier!"
"Hmm so Froakie evolved." I nodded.
"Use Water Pulse!" Frogadier had more speed than Mienfoo, but a Machoke was pretty slow, so I should have the advantage in this battle.
"Machoke Detect!" Even though the attack directly hit Machoke it didn't at the same time.
"What?" I said shocked by the move.
"Detect is a move that makes the opponent's move miss." Korrin explained.
"Use Water Pulse again!"
"Detect again!" However this time when Frogadier attacked it hit and blasted Machoke back.
"Quick Attack!" Frogadier took off and blasted Machoke back into the water. "Water Pulse one more time!" The water splashed up as Machoke jumped out but it was too late the Water Pulse collided with it. It collapsed to the ground weakly.
"Machoke is unable to battle, Frogadier is the winner."
"Alright, I see you have some guts how about this partner of mine. Lucario let's win this for everyone!" I grabbed another pokeball from my belt.
"This is it. Let's do this!" I threw out the poke ball quickly.
