After beating Grant, we had decided the next gym to battle was the one in Coumarine City. I knew that we again had to pass through Lumoise City. It took a long time, but after maybe a week of traveling we had finally arrived in Coumarine City.
"Welcome." Someone said to me as I walked into town. I turned my head to the left, to see three people standing there with smirks on their faces as if there was something funny about me walking into town.
"Um thank you..." I said and walked past them, towards the Pokemon Center in order to my partners all in battle ready states.
"Excuse me miss. We would like you to know you're the 100th person to come into this town today so have decided to give you a free lunch at the inn just outside of town." The people followed.
"No thanks, I ate a little while ago." I said and they seemed displeased by it.
"What about a free night's stay?"
"Again, no thanks, once we battle the Gym Leader, we're leaving again."
"What about- "I cut them off this time.
"Look I don't know who you three are but if you don't leave me alone I will make sure you never bother anyone else again." I growled. They flinched backed quickly. I went to the PC to heal everyone up, before going to find the Gym.
Five minutes later of endless searching I saw it up on the hill.
'Prepare for trouble." Someone started saying behind me.
"Oh no, don't even start. Umbreon use Dark Pulse!" I said and she turned blasting them away into the sky. "Thanks." We walked inside the gym slowly.
"Hello?"
"Welcome to the Coumarine City Pokemon Gym, my name is Ramos and I am the Gym Leader here. I know why it is you are here whippersnapper." The lights flicked on. "And that's to challenge me to a good ol' fashion Pokemon battle." The Gym leader was old. I sighed.
"And here I thought this was going to be a challenging battle." I muttered.
"Don't you go throwing me out before it has even started."
"The Gym battle between Ramos the Gym Leader and the challenger Kat is about to get underway. Each side will use three Pokemon each. Only the challenger can switch out Pokemon. Let the battle begin."
"Charmeleon let's finish this quickly." I threw out his pokeball.
"Jumpluff, it's your time to shine!"
"Jumpluff, the cottonweed Pokemon. Once it catches the wind, it deftly controls its cotton-puff spores-it can even flat around the world." The pokedex spit out to me as I held it up.
"Charmeleon use Flamethrower!" Flares poured fast from its mouth.
"Jumpluff dodge and use Cotton Spore!" Jumpluff floated into the air quickly and several spores circled around Charmeleon. I clenched my fists, Charmeleon was going to be slower now.
"Charmeleon use Dragon Claw!" Charmeleon ran towards Jumpluff as it slowly came down from the air.
"Child's play, use Sleep Powder!"
"No!" The sleep powder wrapped around Charmeleon's body and he dropped to his knees, fighting the sleepy effects. 'Charmeleon use Dragon Claw on yourself!" Charmeleon quickly blasted itself in the face with the move. He immediately opened his eyes sharply and got to his feet.
"Impressive, you're a very skilled trainer to know that the effects of Sleep powder can be stopped by attacking one's self." I smiled lightly.
"Thanks, your Jumpluff sure is strong, but nothing we can't handle. Charmeleon use Flamethrower one more time." I said and he blasted the flames out of its mouth once more.
