THREE DAYS LATER

Brendon 💕: Hey, we have to talk. I know you're busy at college interviews, but it's really really important.

Scar 👑: What is it?

Brendon 💕: Please, just come to my house once you're done.

I shivered as fear overtook me. When people say they needed to talk, it was more often than not a breakup. And I really couldn't handle the one person in my life who I'm certain of just walk away forever.

"Sorry, is something bothering you?" My interviewer asked as I stared at my hands.

"N-No, I'm just nervous."

She tutted as he started asking questions, and me answering them, usually with a stutter.

When I finished I left the building and walked as quickly as possible to Brendon's house, since it was only a block away. As I opened the front door and walked in the living room, I saw Brendon with his hands holding a letter solemnly.

"Babe, what's wrong?" I asked, taking my jacket off as I wrapped my arms around his shoulders.

He sighed as he put the letter down, just after I caught a glimpse of the Long Island University logo.

"So...a letter came in the mail today. I got a job offer from Long Island University. They want me to be an English professor."

I got confused as to why he looked so sad about it.

"That's amazing, Babe! That's such a big opportunity! Why are you so unhappy about it?" I asked.

He sighed again and ran his fingers through his hair.

"I'd have to move to New York, Babygirl."

I swallowed the lump in my throat as my mouth went dry.

"Then go. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity."

"But what about you? And Ryan, and Dallon, and Spencer, and Jon, and Dan, and Kenny? And most importantly - you?!"

"So what? They'll understand, and you can always text and Skype them and they can visit you. They're grown adults. Long distance friendships work just as well, if not better, than real ones."

He turned to me more and took my face in his hands.

"You're avoiding the subject. You are all I care about. How do you expect me to be happy when I leave my princess miles away depressed and upset?"

I huffed and pouted.

"But your job and happiness is a lot more important than my emotions. I don't matter that much."

Instantly, I was pinned against the couch seat by Brendon.

"Don't you see? Without you, nothing in my life matters. I was severely depressed and an all around mess before you came along. Please don't put yourself down, Princess. I love you. You're my everything."

He kissed my lips softly and let me up again as he rolled a piece of paper between his fingers. It was a nervous habit of his. I wrapped my arms around his neck and shoulders from the side again and kissed his cheek.
