Two weeks later

I wasn't allowed to see Brendon for a while. He was in critical care and only family were allowed to visit during that time, and I was so tempted to just admit I was his girlfriend, but they already knew I was a student.

I walked through the halls to a room the receptionist had finally told me to go to. I opened the door, and Brendon was laying in the bed yelling angrily at the TV because someone gave the wrong answer on last week's Family Feud.
His head shot up almost instantly though, and his face dropped, then formed into the largest smile I've ever seen.

"Scar!" He exclaimed.

"Bren!" I almost yelled, throwing my arms around him.

He winced in pain and I let go, but I took his face in my hand, finally giving him a sweet kiss. His hands touched my back and it was amazing. I missed it so much.

"I-I've been watching the news." He said suddenly.

"Oh." I replied simply.

The media was probably my second least favourite part about the whole shooting. Brendon almost dying would be first. Lots of news sites and stuff wanted to interview me (since I was the only one who witnessed a teacher be shot and stay with them till an ambulance came), but I said no, which resulted in them hiring some crisis actors. Like seriously, those actors had never step foot in our school and then they kept going on about how terrifying it was. Fuckers.

"I'm surprised they didn't interview you." Brendon said.

"I said no."

There was a long silence, till I finally spoke up.

"I thought you were going to die, Brendon." I said quietly.

"I know, babe."

"Why did Tate...shoot you?" I questioned; the whole thing was just a blur to me.

"He, uh, pointed it at you. You were having the most heartbreaking panic attack I've ever seen." He held my hand and playing with my fingers, not taking his eyes off them. "I tried to...punch him in the face. I did, and might I say it was a good blow, but he was nuts. He didn't even look like he felt it. But he shot me. And the other kids ran away."

I nodded and sat on the edge of his bed, making circles with my hand on his arm.

"Why would you be so fucking stupid?" I whispered, immediately kissing him as a few tears made their way down my cheek.

"Don't cry, Scar, I'm fine. I'll be outta here in two weeks, and then we can go back to normal. So that means--"

"Random kisses that don't make sense but are lovely." I replied, smiling. He does that a lot. We'll be playing a videogame and he'll just peck my lips, then return to the game.

"Lots and lots of kisses. And it's nearly graduation so I was thinking of getting you a key to my place."

I grinned profusely at him.

"That sounds amazing." I said.

After I said that, their was a knock at the door.

The man walked in and grinned at us.

"Hi Ryan. Ryan, my girlfriend Scarlet, Scarlet, my best friend who lives in LA, Ryan."

"Hi." I said.

"Hi." He replied.

Yes yes not awkward at all.

"Anyway, Brendon, I'll be in Vegas for the next week so you'll be seeing a lot of me. Here is some weed. I've gotta go, but I'll be back tomorrow."

"See ya Ryan!" Brendon waved and so did Ryan, and then he was gone.

"He seemed in a hurry." I said.

"He's in a band called The Young Veins, and he's always on a really tight schedule."

I nodded.

"C'mere." He said.

Brendon shifted in his bed so there was room for me to lie down next to him. I climbed onto the bed and kissed him again.

I'll never be able to kiss him enough.

"You really like kissing me all of a sudden."

"I always have, Bren, but you almost died soo..."

He laughed and kissed me again.
