"Looks can be deceiving." I never understood that phrase, and to this day I still don't. I mean, what the heck is that supposed to mean? How can looks be so deceiving? If you're looking at something or someone, clearly you're seeing all that's to it. There's nothing more than the appearance.

If there was, I would be able to tell—no one can be that good at acting. Unless you're an actor or actress, then obviously you can act since that's what you do for a living. But, what I mean is normal, everyday, average people.

It's impossible to be able to hide so much or to be able to act so well if it's something that's a giant part of you. A small part, maybe, but never a giant part. To me, the world is transparent; not literally obviously, but I seem to be able to see through anything and everything with just a quick glance.

For example, when I was in junior high, once someone at school stole my lunch money, and I immediately saw through her.

Of course it wasn't easy to get it from the person as they were extremely stubborn, but in the end I tricked them and reclaimed my money. Also, the other day at work, someone told my boss that they were sick so they couldn't get any work done that day. However, I saw through them as well, and I later found out that the said person had not been sick at all, but had been busy texting their girlfriend.

So that's why I think that the saying, "looks can be deceiving" is extremely inaccurate. No matter how I look at it, it doesn't imply to the world at all.

A/N: Hi guys. Yes, I am starting another fanfic. And no, I will not discontinue Ugly Duckling, meaning that I will work on both at the same time.
