Chapter Sixteen

"KATIE GET YOUR ASS UP" Jai screams into my ear.

"What's the time?" I ask while trying to adjust my eyes to the sun light.

"Oh it's 12, I thought I'll let you have a lay in."

"Oh shit" I jump out of my bed and take my hair out of the plaits I done after my shower last night. "Where's Lucy?"

"School"

"Where my mum?"

"She isn't here"

"Then how did you get in" I ask, my head turning to Jai.

"Lucy may have given me a key" I turn my head in confusion, why would she give him a house key? I picked up my phone and had so many notifications.

MOM – Dad and I will be home tomorrow as we didn't get to spend much time down here together, love you girls. And im glad you like it down here. Xx

LUKE- I'm sorry, I shouldn't have done that.

Katie where are you?

Katie.

Answer me I'm worried

Lucy said you're at home.

I put down my phone and walk to the wardrobe while Jai is doing whatever on his phone.

"Where's Luke?" I say trying not to make it obvious that I'm concerned.

"Where we should both be" He laughed. I laugh in return and look through my clothes. I grab black high-wasted shorts and a white long sleeve crop top and walk to the dresser to grab underwear, I then went to the bathroom to change. I don't the usual bits and bobs in the bathroom such as brush my teeth and stuff. I walk out and Jai's face lit up, I frown in confusion.

"I've never seen you in shorts, Katie you're actually so gorgeous." He says answering the question I didn't ask.

"Shut up Jai, I'm not" I laugh. He just stared at me and didn't say anything. I put my white converses on and chuck my white back pack on. "Come on bitch, let's go" I laugh.

We walked to school in silence but it was a comfortable silence. By the time we get there it will be lesson four. We start at 9, each lesson is an hour, break is half hour and lunch is 40 minutes. We have two lessons before break and two lessons after break then its lunch, then we have one more lesson, then home... encase you wanted to know.

Once we arrived to school the bell for lesson four went. We said our goodbyes and I gave Jai a peck on the cheek before going to English. I sat down and hoped that Kane would be in today.

"KATIEEEEEE"

"KANEEEEEE" I got up and hugged him before he sat down next to me. "How are you?"

"I'm good, heard what happened last English lesson after I got sent out, you're a savage you know." He winked.

"Didn't they tell you that I was a savage?" I sang Rhianna's line then laughed. I made sure not to look left for the entire lesson otherwise I would have to face Luke. It's not that I don't like him it's just that I don't want to hurt him. My phone vibrated in my pocket and I slyly pulled it out so I wouldn't get in trouble-

You haven't replied to any of my texts and you won't even text me.

I put my phone back into my pocket. At this point I had zoned out and zoned into my bad thoughts.

"Katie, Katie!" Kane said nudging me, I snapped back into reality and looked at him. "You look really nice today!" He said.

"Aww, thank you Kane" I reply blushing like mad. Luke must of heard because he got his things and stormed out of the class. I pull out my phone and reply to his message:

I want you to be happy, because I like you. That's why I'm trying to let you go. So please trust me and leave me alone. It's best for you.

I hit sent and placed it back into my pocket. Kane just kept going on about parties and girls for the entire lesson. I felt my phone vibrate again.

What do you mean Katie? I fell for you that first time I saw you. You're so gorgeous and you're the nicest girl I know. You understand me.

I sigh and turn my phone off before placing it back into my bag.
