Chapter Twenty-three

I had woken up with a pounding headache and didn't recognize where I was so I sat up regretting it as my head started spinning, I roughly remembered last night. No way am I drinking again. I saw Jai on the floor asleep. I must of stole his bed. Being as quite as possible, trying not to wake Jai I climbed over him and opened his bedroom door. I saw Lucy on the landing crying into Beaus arms. Her eyes fell onto me and she instantly ran into my arms, I pat her back confused on why she is crying.

"Katie" She struggled.

"What's happened?" I say in a panic tone. She fell to the floor screaming.

"HOW DID THIS HAPPEN. WHY US. WHY NOW." She screamed I began to cry, my heart beating 100m/ph. Jai and Luke came running out of the room. Luke's arm fell onto me and he squeezed me.

"What's going on?" I cried. The boys exchanged looks and Beau took Lucy to his room. Luke put his arm around me and pushed me gently into his room. "Luke, what is happening?" He wouldn't reply. "Jai, tell me what the fuck is going on" I began crying harder, I felt sick. I had a bad feeling about this.

"Kat" Jai whispered looking down. "It's your parents". My heart stopped beating. I couldn't breathe. Everything went quiet and my vision was covered by a thick layer of water. Jai and Luke left the room to give me space. I couldn't believe this, no way. It must be some sick joke? Wait it couldn't be. I got up and ran to Beau's room. I jumped onto Lucy's lap and we both cried onto each other's shoulders. No, this can't be happening. My whole world came crashing down. My mom, my dad. They're gone.

Gina had taken us home. Lucy and I laid in my bed together, the boys stayed downstairs as they didn't want to leave. I may as well end it, my everything is no longer here. I have nothing. I kissed Lucy on the head for the last time. I stood up and walked to my bathroom grabbing the razor quietly so Lucy won't wake up. I used the bathroom downstairs instead as I didn't want Lucy to hear me cry. I locked the door behind me and sat on the side of the bath. I pulled up my sleeve and began to push it to my wrist. I couldn't stop, my entire up was covered in blood. My vision went black. It's my time.

LUKES POV-

I had seen Katie walk into the bathroom and I wondered why she isn't using hers. I sat on the arm of the sofa with my leg shaking. This must be so hard for her. She doesn't deserve any of this. I love this. Beau had gone upstairs to see Lucy when Kat had come down.

Jai had returned from the shop and I ran straight to him.

"Jai, Katie has been in the toilet for 15 minutes now." I cried, I was in shock as I didn't know what to do. The girl I was in love with is hurting and there is nothing I can do. A ball of panic hit Jai in the face and he ran to the bathroom door.

"Katie, open the door" He repeated. There was no answer.

"JAI BREAK THE DOOR OPEN" I screamed. "BEAU, LUCY HELP" I called up and they both came running down. By the time they reached the bottom of the stairs Jai had got the door open, I pushed Jai out of the way and entered the bathroom. I collapsed onto my knees from the sight. Katie was laying across with her arm covered in blood and a blood puddle forming around her. Everything went silent for me but I could see Jai run to her, everything turnt to slow motion. Lucy was screaming and Beau was on the phone.

The ambulance arrived after waiting for five minutes and I still haven't moved. Jai had to pull me out. The house fell empty. Katie was taken and Jai went with her. I jumped into a taxi straight away while Beau took Lucy up to bed.

(AT THE HOSPITAL)

Jai and I were sat in the waiting room. Neither of us spoke, we just stared into space with tears running down our cheeks for 8 hours. This has all happened so fast. I would jump up whenever I saw a doctor hoping they will have news but they just walked straight past me. I couldn't wait any longer.

"How is Katie?" I asked the next doctor that had walked past.

"Who are you, may I ask?" The doctor spoke. I looked at Jai who then stood up next to me.

"We are her best mates" Jai spoke for me.

"Sorry, I can only give information out to Family" He said while walking away.

"She has no family." I began to cry harder. He paused and turned around. "They had passed away in a car crash yesterday" I struggled to say. The doctor had sat us down and took a seat next to us.

"Katie lost a lot of blood." He said, Jai and I looked at each other, he grabbed my hand and squeezed it, what this it? What she gone? "However, she is recovering" he continued. Mine and Jai's eyes met and we pulled each other into a hug.

"Can I see her?" Jai spoke.

"Only one person at a time" He replied before walking away after we thanked him.

"You go see her first" Jai spoke.

"Are you sure?" I asked slowly. He nodded and I got up. I wiped my eyes and made my way to her room, she had her own while she recovered. I was told she was very very tired and needed sleep. Jai will call Lucy and Beau while I see the girl I love. I slowly open the door.

"Katie?" I question knowing she has no strength to answer but still wished she did. I sat next to her and placed my hand on top of hers. Her arms were all bandaged up and she had tubes coming out of her nose. She looked so peaceful like how she was when I saw her in the bathroom. I began to cry again and I placed my head onto her hand. I could feel her hand twitch. I looked up and her beautiful eyes looked into mine. "Katie" I smiled.

"I'm sorry" She whispered as a tear rolled down her cheek.
