(This is a filler chapter of sorts...)

I stand there in shock. What have I done? I drop the seraph blade that I'm still holding and fall to my knees. What did I do?

I just stay there, ignoring the scene that was happening around me; the clinking of blades against flesh, cries of agony from possibly both Shadowhunters and demons from hell, and an instinctive voice screaming my name. I ignore that familiar voice, and stare at the spot where the demon I just killed laid. I feel a hand on my shoulder. I stand up and turn around. I expected to see Jace, but instead I'm greeted by a familiar black haired girl with dark eyes.

"Clary, what are you doing here?!" Isabelle screams at me.

"I-," I start to say but she cuts me off. "You could've died." She whispers before pulling me into a hug. I hug her back, this time knowing why.

"I have to get you out of here," Isabelle says once we break from our hug.

I nod. She's right, it's way too dangerous for me to be here. I could get attacked at any moment since I'm a person of interest. She pulls me away from where I was, but I still can't get my mind off of what just happened. I close my eyes as Izzy drags me along beside her. She's like a sister to me. We might not have gotten along the best at the beginning but it kinda funny looking at us now. If you would've told me this about half a year ago I would probably laugh in your face.

I smile at the thought, not just the thought but that I remember this. Even if it isn't a moment it's the feeling that developed over time, but I'm getting to sappy with this aren't I? Oh well.

Screams suddenly pierce the air. Goosebumps race up my arms, making the hair stand. Izzy lets go of my hand and we race towards the sound. We race past fallen shadowhunters. What I'm wondering now, and it's probably stupid but how did so many Shadowhunters AND demons get here so quickly. I mean how did news travel that fast? It doesn't matter, what matters is finding out what happened. Izzy and I stop dead in our tracks. We won the battle.... this time, but there are some who are still fighting. Ahead we see a man splayed across a woman's lap and the woman is sobbing over him, for him. He's dead.

A crowd had already started to gather. Some I knew, most I didn't. I start feeling dizzy and I have to grab Izzy's arm for support. An image cuts into my vision, one that's similar to and iratze but isn't one. There are more intricate loops, and more lines that I can't even begin to discern the shape. But I know exactly what this one is meant to do; bring someone back from the dead. I step towards the woman my stele in hand. I hear warbled voices around me and strange stares but I ignore them. I continue to walk towards the woman and I kneel down next to her.

"May I?" I ask her politely.

"What can you do? He's already dead," She tells me between sobs.

"There's one thing I might be able to do," I tell her.

Before any more words were said I draw the rune next to where his wound is in his chest. I'm not quite sure what kind of weapon, or demon it was from but that doesn't matter. I draw the rune furiously, but gracefully. Using all of my energy that I have left I finish drawing the rune. I sit on my heels and stare at the rune. It shines brightly against the man's pale skin. I wait a few more moments. I'm about to get up and admit my defeat when the man suddenly starts coughing. The woman stares down at the man in disbelief then stares at me.

 "Thank you," she mouths.

I nod back. The rune had worked, after those last few moments I expected it not to have. The man and the woman whisper back and forth. From beneath both or their gear I can see matrimony runes. (I have no clue what the name of the rune actually is off the top of my head...) They're married. I feel a hand rest on my back. I turn my head just far enough to get a peek at who is behind me. It's Jace, but he's not looking at me. He's looking at the couple before me. I don't know what he's thinking, but damn I wish I knew... but there's still that part of me that doesn't.

The crowd around me starts to disperse a bit, but not much. They're attention on the other hand is now drawn to me. The funny part is, is that I don't do anything. I sort of sit there and daze off into space. I'm thinking about everything and nothing at the same time. How that is possible, I don't know. To put it even more simple; I have no clue what I'm doing.

"Clary," I hear Jace murmur from behind me, "we have to go. We have to get back to the institute."

Jace suddenly picks me off the ground and puts me on my feet, not waiting for me to get up on my own. As I walk he's a few feet behind me. Why I'm not so sure.

What I am sure about though on the other hand is that I'm going to get my ass chewed off once we get to the institute. I probably deserve to get my ass chewed off.

(A/N - This was just a filler chapter I suppose I could say. I had nothing else in mind up to this point. This was one of the top ones that came to mind as I was writing this chapter. There are various other ways that this could've gone. Like I said this was meant to be as a filler, no significance I think. But anyway I hope you are enjoying my story. If I need to fix anything please let me know! All of this is unedited so I probably made a mistake I didn't catch as I was writing here and there. Or if there's anything whatsoever I need to fix, please let me know. Thank you all for reading this so far, it means a lot to me! Talk to you all later! Ta Ta!    ~ Tinytoonz01)
