Jace and I leave the building where Magnus's apartment is and we start our search.

"Do you know or remember any of his family members? Friends he had?" Jace asks me, trying to find a place where we can start.

I stand there and try to rack my brain for anything that might be useful... but I come up empty. I can barely remember anything about Will, so I guess in some twisted way it makes sense. It seems the universe is making it so we don't find Will, or remnants of him besides the ones he leaves us.

"I'm sorry, but I... I can't remember," I give an answer, but my voice falters towards the end as I can't give any helpful information in this situation.

"Hey it's okay!" Jace comforts me, taking note of how it upsets me that I can't help, "maybe we can find something to help you jog your memory?"

I only nod, I wish I wasn't just a bump on the log at the moment. Jace puts an arm around my shoulders, making me giggle. We start walking away from Magnus's apartment, not in any particular direction. I try to let all my worries fade away as we walk, trying to make some kind of connection with our surroundings to see if anything clicks.

Across the street I see someone putting flowers into a flower pot outside of a bakery. He's putting full grown Begonias in the pot, but that's not what I'm curious about. I'm looking at the tray they were delivered in; Miriam's Flowers. That name... I know it from somewhere.

When we come up to the next crosswalk I gently push Jace's arm off of me and I head to the other side of the street.

"Clary, where are we going?" Jace asks, confused on why I'm suddenly heading to the opposite side of the street.

I don't answer him, I only try to keep the thought fresh in my mind. Does this Miriam have some kind of connection to Will? Is that why I somehow feel like I remember her?

"Excuse me, sir," I say to the man who was planting the flowers.

He looks at me from over his shoulder and he smiles, "how may I help you miss?"

Before I can say another word he stands up and dusts of his hands on his apron, staining it from the soil, "well that wasn't what I planned on doing," the man sighs.

"I'm just curious, but where on earth did you get those Begonias? They're absolutely gorgeous, and I'm hoping to get some flowers for my mom for her birthday. I'm just not sure where to get some," I explain, creating a small but hopefully believable fib.

"Well, there's a florist who owns a flower shop on Knickerbocker Ave here in Brooklyn," it seems to have worked as he even picks up the tray to show me the name of the shop, "she's got the best flowers around. I've only ever gotten flowers from there since I opened my bakery, which was about 10 years ago believe it or not. But Miriam is such a sweet lady, she's the one who owns the shop, and I'm sure she could pick out the loveliest flowers to give to your mum for her birthday."

"Knickerbocker Ave, got it. Thank you so much for helping me!" I thank the man before Jace and I head towards said street.

"You're welcome miss! I do hope you find the best flowers!" He calls back after me.

I look over my shoulder and wave him good-bye, a wave that he returns.

"So I'm guessing that you remembered something back there?" Jace inquires about what just happened back there.

I nod in return, "Indeed I did. While we passed by I saw the name of the florist on that tray and I got some kind of déjà vu vibe, like I know that name from somewhere. And then it hit me after he explained where he got the flowers; Will's mom was a florist, who owns a shop here in Brooklyn, and her name just happens to be Miriam. Will's mom owns that flower shop, which means-."
