"Thank you so much for your time," I tell the elderly lady behind the counter before I turn to leave.

"Wait, aren't you going to buy some treats like you usually do?" She asks me, making me stop.

"I'll come back later and pick some up, but right now I have a few errands to run," I tell her and quickly leave so she can't say anything else to me.

I exit the shop and look either way down the street. I need to figure out where I'm going; I can't go back to the institute which is my home...

"What on earth are you doing on this side of the city?" A voice I know says behind me, "When you stormed out of the institute and just disappeared, everyone went into a frenzy."

I turn around and look at Magnus. I could just about hug him right now.

"I'm sorry that I stormed out, I was angry, upset and-" I start to tell him but he cuts me off.

"I don't think anyone would blame you in that situation. After all, if you didn't follow us, you may not have gotten your memories back. We should head back to the institute and make everyone see that you're alright," he tells me.

"I can't go back to the institute... not yet anyway," I say to him.

"What else would you need to do? I don't think it would be wise to let everyone continue to run around with their heads chopped off like chickens."

"If we can go to your apartment, I could explain everything there."

But there's something at the back of my mind telling me that I can't tell him about what's going on. But that 'Master' or whoever he was had told me that I can't tell anyone from the institute about what I'm doing. Magnus isn't from the institute, he isn't a Shadowhunter he's a Warlock.

Magnus sighs before saying, "Fine, but I can't promise that no one else will show up while we're there."

With basically a snap of his fingers we're in his apartment. It feels like it's been forever since I've stepped foot into Magnus' apartment. Magnus gestures me over to the couch. He sits in a chair across from me. We have a few awkward moments of silence.

"Well are you going to explain what is going on or are we going to continue sitting in silence?" Magnus asks me, annoyance creeping into his voice.

I take a big breath and begin to explain my situation. As I explain he nods his head, following along with me as I tell him my tale of woe. He ponders for a minute or two, reflecting on what I had just told him.

"Did this 'Master' give you any other name that he goes by?" Magnus asks me.

"No," I tell him, "he left his true identity out of the picture."

"But you say he seems human, yet he was wearing attire that resembled a Shadowhunter's gear but not quite?"

"That was what it looked like, yes. I feel like I've seen it before, but I can't place where."

"I'm sure you've seen it before, Clary, but until you retain the rest of your memories everything about this situation will be "I've seen it before, but I can't place where". And it seems to me that you were sent on a wild goose chase with no chance to find the wild goose."

"Perhaps the glimpses of the past that I keep seeing will lead me to where I'm supposed to go. Otherwise there wouldn't have been a need for those memories to be recalled if there wasn't a significant use for them."

"You do make a good point. I will try my best to help you; I'll try to find out what I can on this 'Master' and if you have anymore of those glimpses of the past, follow them but do try to at least let me know if you happen to get another one."

"What should I do until then? I don't have any other place to go since I can't go back to the institute. I was told not to go back, but if I do everyone will try to keep me there and I only have a limited amount of time to do what I have to do."

"I suggest you walk around the city, find someplace or something that will jog your memory again. And with that being said, I also suggest trying not to run into anyone else from the institute. You have less than a day to find that demon and to recover the rest of your memories. Neither of us knows what will happen if you don't do this in time, since you weren't told, so it's better not to risk finding out."

"Then I suppose that I'll continue on with my mission then. Thank you, Magnus. I really do appreciate this."

"It's quite alright. What kind of friend would I be if I didn't help you? And besides, this should prove to be interesting."

I get up from the couch and walk over to the door. I wave Magnus good-bye and grab the doorknob. I try to turn it but there's someone else on the other side of the door that's trying to open it, too. I release the doorknob and step out of the way of the swinging door. In front of me stands Alec, who's surprised to see that I was the one on the other side of the door and not Magnus.

I quickly shove past him, not allowing him to have any time to react or think. I rush down the flight of steps, expecting to hear Alec flying down the steps after me, but all I can hear is myself and my heartbeat. I run outside and put my hands on my knees and try to catch my breath.

I look up at one of the windows to Magnus' apartment and I can see Alec watching me. I shake my head and try to put as much distance between myself and the building as possible. I'm not sure why Alec didn't come after me, but it's more of a blessing that he didn't try to stop me from fleeing. Sorry guys, but this is something I've got to do by myself even if I don't want to do it.

So that was Chapter 11! I know that this isn't all too big of a chapter, but I hope you guys enjoyed it all the same! I will try my best to get the next chapter done like I have this one! See you next chapter!
