Chapter 37

Alexia P.O.V

As soon as we were back into the house I ran to Seth's room locking the door.

"I'm sorry." I heard him say from the other side of the door. I walked into the bathroom looking at the bruise that was already started to heal.

"I had to make it believable I'm so sorry. Take my blood it can heal you faster." He said at the bathroom door now.

"I don't need your blood. I'm already healing." I said walking past him he grabbed my hand and I tensed. Seth only kissed but I snatched my hand from him. "Get out Seth." I said. He stared at me for a few seconds before leaving the room. I guess he had a key because it wasn't broken down. I climbed in the bed. What am I going to do?

For the past two weeks different packs have be sending little messages or warriors with warnings. They all ended with the same fate as the first. Seth tried his best to keep them away from me but I knew. He always destroyed the evidence or held meeting when he thought I was asleep.

He was leaving tonight. Seth and a few of his men were going to destroy a nearby pack as a message to stop sending messages ? I didn't understand the point if attacking or which pack it would be attacked. I knew I was going to be there. During my spying I only got caught once by Lilly and Fiona. Apparently Fiona liked Lilly's company more than anyone. She never looked up at her but she will crack a giggle every now and again when Lilly was around.

"I'll be in my office." Seth said looking at me with hopeful eyes before leaving. I haven't spoken. Not even a word to Seth since the first threat. He had given me flowers,food, jewels and even tried to take me on a date. Trying to satisfy me with anything he could think of. But I kept my mouth shut and just watch him crumble every passing hour. Seth never gave up. Even though I don't respond he still talks as if he can hear my response in some unreal way. I had far too much to think about. Far too much to plan for the upcoming events.

My wolfs were bickering at the back of my mind all day. It was starting to give me a headache. It's been weeks since I have been in my mate's arms. I know that they missed him. So did I but that didn't give them to right to argue all day. I tried to block out their voices.

I mentally thanked them when the bickering stopped. Either I finally blocked them out or they finally stopped talking. I stepped outside the room and I spotted Lilly she wasn't alone though. Seth was whispering to her telling her to talk to me. She glared at him. Her hands clenched at her sides.

"You brung her here. She found her mate she was happy. But no you had to go take her. Seth the King taking someone's mate. You're no better than Anthony. This whole family is sick." She said lowly her voice filled with hate and she slammed her room door in his face. I quickly started my way down the stairs before he could see me. I saw Fiona cleaning stuff in the living room. Her heart was calm and she was even humming.

"Hey." I whispered. Trying to not startle her like I always did. But I failed the shelf she was cleaning tipped over as she shrieked jumping out of her skin. I steadied the shelf not wanting to cause any attention.

"Princess." Her heart rate sped up again.

"You can call me Alexia." I said just like I have said many times before. She didn't reply and she was trembling again. "Could you help me.." I started.

"Yes of course." She said before I could finish.

"I'm hungry and.." I started again.

"What would you like? I'll make it immediately." She said. I didn't mean to glare but I did. She seem to sense and stop talking. But she wasn't looking at me. Just near my face.

"I would like to make it myself but I will need some help." I said.

"I'll get Prince Stephen." She said about to run off.

"I would like it if you would help me. Stephen and I aren't on the best terms." I said.

"Oh. Of course." She said. I started walking to the kitchen while she followed. "What would you like to prepare?" She asked. The kitchen emptied and it almost seemed like she relaxed.

"A sandwich." I said and she disappeared into a room connected to the kitchen. I sat at a stool as Fiona came back with bread. She look out honey turkey, lettuce and cheese out of the fridge. My favorite ingredients ...

"How did you know I liked honey turkey?" I asked.

"Before you came. Prince Stephen told few maids to study your likes and dislikes to make you as happy as possible." She answered putting the ingredients on the bread. I went to get a knife and her heart rate quickened once again.

"Fiona I'm not going to hurt you." I said. "You can trust me." I said cutting the sandwich in half.

"My name isn't Fiona." She said.

"What is it?" I asked.

"Jane. The King named me Fiona when he took over my pack. Princess by day and beast at night." She explained.

"I'm sorry. Hi Jane nice to meet you." I held out my hand and we shook hands. The sandwich tasted like home. I remembered my plans for leaving to follow Seth.

"Thank you for your help, Jane. I have to go now." I said talking the plate with me.

"Yes of course. Would you like for me to take you to your room?" She asked.

"That would be great." I said. We walked up the stairs.

"When you're finished just leave it outside the door. Someone will get it for you." Jane said once we were at the door.

"Alright thanks again." I said walking in the room. I got my outfit ready and all the materials I would need. Seth would see me before he leaves. So I continued eating and thinking. I smelt his scent before he even opened the door.

"You ate?" He asked surprised. I decided to nod and that shocked him even more. His arms were wrapped around me. "You responded." He said with a huge smile before going to the closest. When he reappeared he came over to me and kissed my cheek. "I'll be back later. If you need anything I'm sure you can find Fiona." He said before leaving. I waited until I couldn't sense him in the house before I started getting ready. I would still find him and his group of men. They were somewhere a few minutes away from the house.

I sprayed myself with scent masking solution.. I may had to borrow a few things from places around the house. Now for the hard part sneaking out. The window was still covered with whatever made it burn my fingers last time. I had to sneak out the front. When I opened the door the coast was clear. My whole path was clear according to my scent everyone was busy. I quietly rushed down stairs and out the door. As soon as I was out I hit a  small body that yelped. I heard the footsteps of the King and pulled the small familiar body with me out the house into the woods. I hadn't noticed I was covering her mouth or the fact she was crying. I let her rest against the tree.

"No time to explain. I need to go." I said as Seth and his men started their way towards my pack.

"No you can't. Prince Stephen will be angry." She said looking around as if we were going to be caught.

"Seth is going to attack my pack I have to help." I said running in the direction of the house. I felt a strong grip on my wrist. As I turned I saw Jane. She was staring into my eyes. Her eyes were glowing and my wolf was coming to surface.

"I can't let you do that princess." She said. I snatched my wrist from her. Surprised by her sudden personality change I ran and then I was tackled. Falling face forward into the dirt before I passed out.
