Gabriella

I was on my hands and knees as I scrubbed the kitchen floor, their was a special occasion apparently and all I've been doing is scrubbing.

I heard a giggle and I bought my head up too see her, she was around the knights as they continue to have the time of their lives, she looks down at me.

There was Aria, the hothead who tried to act tough but was frightened of responsibility, I could see, heck all the maids could see that she is obsessed with power, she genuinely thought she was better then everyone around her.

I sit their with my legs crossed, maybe she is better then me, before I could finish my train of thoughts someone grabbed and lifted me up to my feet, I turn around and see Alec, to my surprise.

"Prince" I curtsied

"I don't like it when you do that, sort of makes it awkward for me." Alec says scratching the back of his head

"I know but their are people around, so it makes me feel better." I say dropping the dirty sponge I had in my hand and looking up in his sparkling green eyes.

"I haven't written my wedding speech yet, and Aria is on my back about it."

"You mean your wedding vows?" I say a little louder then i intended to.

He walks upstairs, looking back at me as if I should following. I quickly run up the stairs and follow closely behind the prince, to my surprise he opened the room Anita and I share and walked in casually, I also did leaving the door wide open.

"Lock the door lady Gabriella." He spoke softly, I turned around and did as he said.

He sat on Anita's bed, and I said right in front of him on my own bed, he half smiles at me as he takes a little paper from out of his pocket.

"All that I have, All that I am, All that I will ever be, Is yours. Forever." He says, his eyes still on the paper.

Although I knew those words weren't directly for me, I felt butterflies in my stomach. "Was that your speech?"

"I know it isn't much, but I'm not that good with expressing my feelings." He says shoving the paper back in his pocket

"No Alec, that was beautiful." I say starring at him in owe

"I feel as though Aria would be dissatisfied, she's really into perfection."

I mentally roll my eyes, I don't think she deserves him.

"Were are you getting married?" I ask him

"Right here in the palace, I think the garden in the back."

"How about we use a metaphor, I'll start and you continue." I say, looking anywhere but his eyes.

"Sounds fun" he whispers

"In this beautiful garden I dedicate myself to you." I softly say

"Although our lives may change like the seasons, I will love you." He says, I shoot my head up to look at him and smile.

"As our love grows like a seed to a beautiful flower, I will love you."

"When the winds of doubt blow through, I will love you." He continues

"We will stand together, strong, nurtured by each other's love until the end."

We sat their in silence staring at one another, before Alec broke into a huge grin. He looked so handsome when he smiled like that.

"If someone had some sort of supernatural ability were they could bring someone back from the dead, why wouldn't they just tell other people who have lost loved ones, while also making cash out of it and being rich, Hypothetically speaking of course." Alec says standing up and crossing his arms.

"Alec is this about the night you were attacked, I told you it was a hallucination you did not see anyone girl in a white dress with a blue light coming out of her hand."

Alec raised his eyebrow and took a step towards me "I never said that the blue light was coming out of her hands, did I ?"

"Yes you did." I say bitting my bottom lip, I stared at the ground not able to make eye contact with him.

"I saw your face clearly Gabriella and I have never seen anything so clear in my life."

"What is the last thing you remember, Alec?"

Alec paused. I could see he was starting to regret this conversation.

"I saw you. I heard you shouting me..." Alec  voice stumbled. "You... you were saying something. I felt...pain. Just...pain."

Silence. I couldn't even make eye contact with him, I knew that I was stuck this time and I had no way to run.

"Alec when I saw you. You were clutching your  chest, you were stabbed five times in the chest by that freak. When you were laying their I could hear you breathe I was just...relieved to see you. You were alive and I was so happy and I knew ...you would be okay. Me and Anita were labelled traitors and if you died ...that night. I swear to God Alec, they would of killed us-"

"Gabriella are you afraid that I would tell someone that you are different, I know their are things out their in the forest, hell I stabbed that guy and he perished in thin air." Alec says softly.

"I'm just an orphan girl."

"No, you're so much more then that to me." He says sincerely.

Their was a knock on the door and I looked at Alec wide eyed.

"Gabby it's me" Anita says "Not the wicked witch Aria, who by the way literally pushed me aside because I was blocking her sun. Who does that?"

"Er, I'm in here with a man." I shout, hitting myself in the forehead.

"Yeah right, I'll be in the kitchen when you stop playing with yourself, you should come down and help me wash the dishes." She says

Ignoring her I turn around to face the prince, he had his arms crossed.

"No, go ahead. I know just how demanding one's job can be." Though his face showed anything but understanding. As a matter of fact, the creasing in his features showing extreme annoyance over this disturbance.

"I don't know what to say"

He nodded without saying another word and left my bedroom slamming the door shut, making me jump a little. I turned around and felt tears running down my face.

Nothing haunts us like the things we don't say.
