King Alec Leonidas

We finally took a rest, the horses were getting tired and so were the men. We've taken camp in the middle of the woodland hidden behind some trees so we weren't completely out in the open.

I got of my horse and walked towards one knight who took of his armour. He noticed me walking towards him and stood up straight.

"Name?" I asked him

"Ethan" he says clearly, still standing up straight. Which was what all knights in my kingdom were taught to do.

"Listen to me very carefully Ethan, you cannot take of your armour even when you're sleeping." I state to him "I need all the men I can get."

"Yes my king." He says nodding

He looked young, his blonde hair curly and his face smooth with no scars. Not like the rest of the men. They all had scars.

"Stay woke kid, I don't want to be the person who gives your parents the bad news."

"Why should you my king?" He asked curiously

"Excuse me?" I asked, none of the knights where ever supposed to ask a Royal a question. They usually just say yes.

"I'm sorry, I just assumed you had people who told our families that we are dead."

"When my father was in charge yes, but now I'm the king and I want to personally tell the families who's men fought for me that he died on battlefield fighting for his people."

Ethan smiles at me, and as do i. I look behind him to see Gabriella just a few feet behind him listening to our conversation. I put my hand on his left shoulder and nod at him.

"Armour on Ethan, and try to get some rest before we leave." I instructed him, he nodded and walked away.

I stood in front of Gabriella, we were in the middle of the knights however they were all busy trying to get some rest and eating.

"I'm always the one who joins you on your quests, people might get suspicious" she says smiling at me, she was so beautiful I couldn't help but chuckle.

"People are going to talk either way" I shrug

"So.. why exactly am I here?"

"Let's walk." I say turning around and walking passed the men, Gabriella followed closely behind me as we walked slowly down the trail we came from so we were away from everyone else.

I stood still, and turned to face her with a worried expression, she didn't understand how powerful she was. She saved my life, bought me back from the dead. And still the thought of her blood magic never occurred to her to use.

"I did not bring you here as some sort of reliance, I know you saved my life once before I would never assume you would do it again."

"That was pure luck if I'm being honest, I was never really trained in my abilities." She shrugs "but if the opportunity came again, I wouldn't hesitate to help you my king."

I lick my bottom lip, I'm sure she already knew how much i wanted her to call me by my name. The way it sounds from her mouth was like music to my ears, however I knew not to play with fire. Especially since what I'm about to ask of her requires me to be as cautious as possible.
